They have employees, employees in Washington where there company came from who may want to get married but currently can't and so have decided to support the legislation.

And by publicly coming out in support of it as a large company, it has a normative effect on the public opinion of the policy, making it less controversial and encouraging other businesses, organizations and people to support it...hopefully showing the people deciding on the legislation that it is okay to say yes.

This didn't happen to me, but my mom when i was a little kid, and way before Columbine.

A student was failing French so one day he brought his hunting rifle to school to kill her, turns out the teacher was gone that day so he shot and killed the substitute. then he shot a couple other people before the cops came and arrested him. My mom was teaching a class off the library and when shots were fired they ran and hid in the library, at one point some came in and said, "he's not shooting kids, he's shooting teachers"
