It's a sad, sad day when we should be happy that wood only gives up one run.

Well here comes Wood. It's all over, folks.

I thought you were wondering if we should sign Sosa back onto the team like we did with Kerry Wood...

I can get it out in Aurora, and it is the best fried chicken and fried fish ever.

MSF report and 'tards by NuclearMeltdownin motorcycles

I passed my BRC this weekend too (western chicago suburbs). I only got to ride the TU250X, but I really liked it. No saddle sore after riding it for ~9 hours total during the weekend, and I found the clutch to be pretty easy. Plus, I love that classic styling but I wish new ones came in more colors. Suzuki is doing 0% for 60 on all of their new bikes, which makes the bike super tempting.

We had 3 people not show up for the last half of the AM class on the first day of riding because they decided to be jackasses on their harley's and scream off of campus. Mr. Police Officer was right there and stopped them at McDonalds and took their bikes. Good fun.

I gathered the same thing. She seemed to be forcing it or dialing it in when they were in the cave.

How do you know when it's time to let go of a car that has been good to you? by fixthe_fernbackin Autos

[–]fixthe_fernback[S] 0 points1 point ago

Absolutely. I test drove a Regal GS (yes I know it's not AWD but it seems to be in the same ballpark) the other day and while it handled and braked amazingly, it just felt too sloppy. Legacy GT has too small of an interior, IMO.

72k. I could easily afford to trade it in for something else if I wanted to. It's not the money. I still really like the car but I don't want to spend a lot of money on broken car parts or repairs. I keep thinking that it's a ticking time bomb. I keep decent care of it though.

My review of Suddenlee by davidknowsbestin malefashionadvice

[–]fixthe_fernback 8 points9 points ago

I wholeheartedly agree. I ordered a uniqlo shirt in the morning, and got shipping confirmation at around 3-4pm. It was shipped UPS ground and only took 2 days to get to Chicago. It was packaged very nicely with original bags and receipts. I only ordered one shirt since I wasn't sure how it'd fit, so on a $14.90 shirt, I ended up paying $27 (which was less than MSRP of $29.90). I will be using this service again, it's a much better value if you order more or if the items are on sale, though.

Uniqlo OCBDs for $14.90 till 3/18 by silentjay85in frugalmalefashion

[–]fixthe_fernback 0 points1 point ago

Thanks, just ordered one through suddenlee. I almost ordered 3 of them, but since I've never tried on an Uniqlo shirt, I refrained and ordered just one. Hopefully it fits, and if so I'll order more next week.

What are your favorite one-pot meals? by jgarfinkin Cooking

The chili flavor won't have time to soak in so it will taste very tomato-y, and not much like chili

That sounds like it would taste way too green. Let that shit sit overnight.

My girlfriend and I both love Chanel Egoiste Platinum. It's $80 per bottle, not sure if that's the price range you want?

Thrifted my first two shirts... they're going to be my tailoring test mules. One in is a pastel green OCBD from Brooks Brothers and one is a blue dress shirt with white buttons. can't remember the brand.

Stupid question about socks and Clarks Desert Boots by Rwh909rin malefashionadvice

[–]fixthe_fernback 1 point2 points ago

It took mine a tad over month to break in where I wouldn't get any friction (wearing dress socks) or odd pressure points. I left mine unoiled/softened, though.

Also, I always wear mine with thin socks, never got any blisters. I don't get any sore spots anymore, either.

Send it back. Paying $148 for a shirt and getting the wrong one is absolutely unacceptable, IMO. Plus, the one you actually ordered looks amazing, IMO.

I liked the D2's I tried on but I couldn't find them in Navy. The D1's fit nice and are navy but they have pocket flare. D3's were far too baggy for me. I think ass size has something to do with it.

I'm built like you, 36 inch waist, 6-0, 215~ lbs. I can't find chinos or dress pants that don't have pocket flare. It's annoying, but I live with it. Do you have a preferred brand of chinos with a modern silhouette that don't have pocket flare?

Also, I have a big ass and consequently, 514's on me really accentuate my package. I'm debating getting a pair anyways, my GF loves them on me.

+1 for brooks brothers. I love their slim fit shirts and they look awesome on me. I want to go in there and spend a disgusting amount of money.
