I doubt the feed you saw was edited. Someone tried blurring it out, but they were too late and ended up making a wide-angle shot of the stage all fuzzy for a split second.

Thing is, it blends in with her outfit... I saw the blur live and a few times on youtube and couldn't figure out why it was there. Thanks, PTC, for telling me why I should be enraged; would've completely missed it otherwise.

I have a bottle of lotion near my bed as well. It's because my hands get really dry in winter.
As a circumcised male, I've tried lotion a few times and it was just a fucking mess with no upside.

Even if the guy you mention used it for something other than treating dry skin, I'd be careful trying to extrapolate to universal preference. Quite literally, it's different strokes for different folks.

And while I might point out up front that there are many factors that contribute to HIV infection in adults (and that female-to-male is certainly not the only infection vector), I would also like to highlight that HIV prevalence in US adults (0.6%, 2009 estimate) is well below the world-wide average of around 1%.

A lot of the studies that I've seen are from within the last 10 years or so. I find it hard to believe that the "this is an out-of-date study..." retort would fly very far with them. Then again, the whole issue has taken on such a holy war flavor to it, that zealots are quick and loud in denouncing any attempts at bringing fact-based science into the mix.

You know you're on that kind of crazy train when you see activist groups bemoaning the lack of randomized controlled trials in one breath, then dismissing in the next the results of three separate randomized controlled trials that were all stopped early by independent ethics oversight boards due to the significant efficacy apparent in intermediate data... because they were all stopped early by independent ethics oversight boards due to [yadda yadda yadda].

In short: there's lots of inherent downsides, lots of risks, no benefits, and no all-fired hurry to do it as a child.

To say there are no benefits is not true. It has been shown that circumcision significantly reduces the risk of female-to-male HIV infection.
