If someone has allergies does that mean their immune system is weak, or if they do not suffer from allergies, their immune system is awesome? by damnimrunningoutin askscience

I was just wondering if histamine is involved in both types of reactions, seasonal/pollen and food allergies.. You may have answered that, so apologies if I misunderstood.

If you were put in charge of trimming Earth's human population down to 3 billion or so, what would your criteria be for who stays and who goes? by Clayburnin AskReddit

Because it's not the fault of those people whether or not they're literate. They can't read because their circumstances didn't allow them that luxury. I'm just saying if you're going to kill 4 billion people, why are you going to do it based on the outcome of their unfortunate circumstances?

What about histamines? I know that has to do with things like food and chemical allergies, but does that also play into seasonal allergies?

I don't think eliminating everyone from third world countries just because they never had access to proper schooling is very fair...

Genetic malformations

Please clarify. Do you mean like hunchbacks or lazy eyes, or the kind of unnoticable genetic mutations that everyone has that allow our species to continue to evolve? Also,

getting rid of 50-60% of us under those criteria

That would be more like 80%...

What are your favorite things to do with friends that are cheap, easy and instantly fun? by Noedelin AskReddit

Kick the Can is pretty great, especially outside at night if you have a nice yard. You get a coffee can and put it in the center of the yard. One person is the guarder of the can, and the other people have to try and kick the can (obviously) but if the person tags you, you lose and have to guard the can. It makes you feel like a sneaky special agent or something. Super fun.

It's all fun and games until you hide behind a tree and your brother runs full force into it and splits his lip open. To this day I will never play this game outside of water.

My mother still doesn't trust me with valuables because I lost my discman 9 years ago. What things do your parents/relatives still unfairly hold against you? by xxneonlovein AskReddit

Oh, and every time I had my boyfriend over, she made me keep the door open. I went home for christmas this year and was skyping with my boyfriend, and she repeatedly told me that I wasn't allowed to do anything gross over the webcam. Gee thanks, mom.

My mom thinks she knows my lying face for some reason, and whenever I'm trying to honestly defend myself from something she's saying, she claims I'm lying because she "knows my lying voice." There are so many other things. She claims I can never own a pet because she thinks I'm irresponsible- I'm 21 and haven't been late to work or school even once in the past year, I pay all of my bills before they're due, etc.

Ditto. We had at least three made up languages at one point. One did look a lot like rune symbols.

No troll here: I went to public schools and didn't even grasp the concept of sex until age 18. And I certainly didn't know my peers were doing it.

Me: what program do you use to run the internet? Mom: We just use the internet? Me: No, what browser do you use? When you go to the internet, what does the icon say? Mom: It's just...the internet....

I wouldn't. It doesn't always come out in a straight line, you know.

Like another poster pointed out, since when does a fetus's right to live trump the right of a sentient, self-aware conscious mother's right to live?

Hey, I also didn't come up with the phrase. I wouldn't call it a "war on women," but it is definitely a concerted attack on our rights. I don't blame the frantic media for calling it that.

Exactly, and it all boils down to a misconception about the way birth control works. A lot of people claim that birth control kills fetuses, but it doesn't.

Alright... because I don't have specific evidence right now that it was deliberate, I'll concede you that point.

Violence specifically against women

That's called discrimination, and yeah, the government has a right to outlaw it, just as they do with African Americans and other minorities.
