TROPHY CASE

My 11yr old brother is becoming a racist/homophobic bully. What can I do? by hedoesntknowimgayin AskReddit

He's probably being raped/molested and this is the only way he knows how to act out - you should ask him if anyone is doing this to him

Cloudy thinking: The death of the PC is a fallacy by josefonsecain sysadmin

[–]fgriglesnickerseven 5 points6 points ago

cloud computing did not work for that division, but marketers didn’t call it a cloud then

Whenever people ask what the cloud is this is what I tell them. It's old technology rebranded as something fluffy and vague - something any manager describe (in a fluffy and vague manner) and give himself a huge ereciton about all his IT knowledge. To the lay person their understanding of IT just so happens to coincide with the description of "the cloud" - making them feel ok with not knowing what's going on - because hey, the name basically implies that you shouldn't know what's going on.

Basically its old technology rebranded to make people who don't know much about IT ( not that you need to know ) feel like they actually understand it - this is why it really took off. Basically everyone is running around with huge IT erections because now even their Keurig machine is "running on the cloud".

Today my girlfriend told me that she would never have kids with a guy with tattoos because she doesn't want her kids born with the tattoos of the father, as if they were passed genetically. So acid was readily available to throw in their faces?

Acid was readily available and seeing that they didn't require any empirical evidence to base their opinions on you could tell them it was a magic drink that would make them live forever.

Its more fun to douse them in gasoline and set them on fire and then yell "You can't be on fire because crude oil came from organic matter that was deposited millions of years ago so this isn't actually happening!"

How can you say the chemicals being used are not dangerous? You claim that h2o2 is not dangerous but I'm sure you wouldn't stick your hand in a cup of it if you didn't know the concentration.

As someone who doesn't want chemicals (and apparently highly concentrated chemicals based on the violent reaction) splashed/burned onto any part of my body, I too thought the same.

That kid is an asshole

What is one statement that you stand by but might get unpleasant reaction from others? by no_front_teethin AskReddit

[–]fgriglesnickerseven 0 points1 point ago

Whenever I see "black" referring to a color of something (non-human, such as a car) I make it a point to be obnoxious and ask why the object is not "african american" colored.

This pisses off my liberal friends to no end. Very enjoyable.

They have more important things to do with those computers... like generating believable suspects in terrorist attacks that will be carried out on a date also currently being determined by those computers

Even when you thought if it would be fun to take your poop and one of the glass stirring rods you used in high school chemistry and shove it down your pee hole.

Yes - even that has been pondered by another (and most likely attempted).
