Haha, I thought the same thing. I've heard that in New Zealand, you have to wait longer — some people even utter "god save the queen" to ensure a slow enough strike. This is elsewhere, but maybe the fishing is similar.

Yea, I got to second Rio lines. I've used SA (also not bad), Cortland (cast well, but really stiff and hard to fish), and Rio is the best. But Rio lines last well, they fish well (very suple), float high, and their tapers are awesome.

ggplot tip — don't feed in vectors with $ into ggplot aesthetics (which produces the funky legend). Just use:

ggplot(your.data) + geom_points(aes(x=col.a, y=col.b))

ggplot scopes your columns so you don't need to use $.

I love this, as long as you don't use it for anything meaningful. I always encourage people to implement toy algorithms/libraries for fun, then never use them for anything.
