I always carry an extra-strength garbage bag for this reason. Even if I never need it, I've twice given it to other hikers who had forgotten to bring rain gear. They can also be cut open to make a little tarp.

That's not true. My local Superstore here in Halifax forces their customers to bring their own. The Sobeys just up the street still have plastic bags, but the Superstore is never lacking in business. People's attitudes and habits are changing, if slowly. I still think it should be legislated though...

Admiration =/= objectification. Besides, I doubt she'd have dyed her hair if she wasn't seeking at least a bit of harmless admiration. Most people like it, including yours truly.

I don't have problems with the woman in the photo, but I downvoted it anyway because it's the wrong sort of bike! Half the posts to /r/mtb are nothing more than photos of bikes, so throwing in a person doesn't hurt (if it's the right damn type of bike!).

All that being said, some of the posts here are pretty juvenile, but I guess that's reflective of Reddit's demographics.

You also have to be careful to pick the right kind of fern. They're especially delicious with butter and vinegar. They're a 2-week delicacy here in Nova Scotia, and I look forward to them every year.
