Something I've sometimes wondered about: if the train operator lost consciousness without warning, some kind of health problem, whatever... would the conductor have to run up there and stop the train? Or is there the equivalent of an accelerator pedal that the operator has to keep pressing down, so that the train would just slow and stop on its own if he/she let up on it?
