What were the days after 9/11 like? by argonautsin AskReddit

[–]emtdan 0 points1 point ago

I was 13 too in 8th grade. My school didn't tell us what had happened - all I knew when I was getting on the bus to go home was that people knew 1 plane had crashed into the WTC and people were arguing about whether the WTC and twin towers were the same thing. We didn't know about the second plane, pentagon, or PA. So besides from getting on the busses and my dad at home telling me he saw the second plane live I remember nothing. I am still bitter my school tried to shield us on the most important day of our lives.

This is worrying me, since I don't know what is going on on my nose by vagarybluein Health

Definitely impetigo. Came here to say this but had to wait for someone to remind me what it was called.

Yea, but isn't there a drawback. Say the many people who don't read the label, take one each day and the bottle last 50 days? That means the company is selling less?

Do I have a fractured penis/can I do anything about it? by throwaway50999in Health

I also wanted to add, that you may not have had a penile fracture. Other things can cause erectile dysfunction - such as low testosterone levels.

Typically for issues like this a device can be implanted to 'blow up' the penis. There are also penile prosthetics - I had a cadaver once with one. I would set up an appointment with a urologist - have him/her take a look and give you the best advice for you.

How I feel after deleting my Facebook account last night. by The_Chang_Singin funny

[–]emtdan 1 point2 points ago

Yup. This. I am one of maybe 2 in my med class that don't have facebook. All my friends email me with party information.

I am supposed to graduate college next week, but I failed one of my classes. I'm scared/embarrassed to tell my parents and friends. My family has already begun preparations for my graduation party. Any stories to let me know I'm not alone or to give me the courage to tell my parents the truth? by collegefailure2012in self

[–]emtdan 4 points5 points ago

My brother failed multiple classes in college but still went along allowing my parents to think he was graduating. My parents only found out when all the other parents had graduation tickets and my brother said "no one gave them to him". They called the school to see what was up. This is what is not to do.

Blood can be that color during CO poisoning due to carboxyhemoglobin. Although, the blood would have tried and turned dark red/black by the time this photo was taken. And CO poisoning wouldn't have happened at a school.

Why Nurses Need More Authority - Allowing nurses to act as primary-care providers will increase coverage and lower health-care costs. So why is there so much opposition from physicians? by ttruth1in Health

[–]emtdan 23 points24 points ago

Absolutely Not. I am a nurse and the nursing education is not adequate to act autonomously as a GP. Just because someone is poor doesn't mean they deserve a half taught GP will NO diagnostic education or experience. If you mean APRNs (advanced practice nurses) as GPs - that's fine. APRNs do already act as GPs in the country side and more suburban areas now. RNs will never be able to fill that role as we are taught to recognize abnormalities not interpret those abnormalities and test results.

My thing says there is only 1 seed. I feel like everyone is jumping in on using the same fleshlight but no one is cleaning it for the next person. Do work (wo)men.

Imagine if it were stick. My scariest nightmares have been driving a MAC truck, stick shift, stopped on an icy 40 degree uphill incline.

I live in center city Philadelphia. It is my type of city in that I am from the NY suburbs and hated the no grass, no skylight city of new york. Philly has its skyscrapers but you can walk away from them in 15 minutes. There are 2 awesome downtown parks - washington square and rittenhouse (which is the wealthiest part of philly). There are parks everywhere now. Penn just added one too. There are bike lanes which are nice except assholes park in them.

I've been to a number of U.S. cities and philly is one of the few I'd actually live in - not commute to.
