TROPHY CASE

So then you believe the doctrine that has been handed to you by your religion in its entirety? If not, you are believing what you want, and I am wondering what your criteria is for deciding what is worth believing and what you throw out.

So I believe what I want

How does that work exactly? What is your basis for determining what you believe and what you don't? Obviously there is no proof for any of it, so how do you decide?

This is a phenomenon that I have never understood, how to take something that, all things considered there is equally negligible evidence for, and accept/reject parts of it. If you reject everything up to 'there is a god', and stop there, then that's fine, but you can't really call yourself a Christian. If you think that there's something to this Jesus character, then on what basis do you believe that, and not that Noah had an ark that floated around in a Water-World type situation for a little over a month?

I am sure that this will happen. I posted a link above about Ubuntu dual booting on the TF201. I don't plan on getting a TF300 though.

Looks Galaxy S specific. Check out ClockWorkMod's Rom Manager.

Hmm, not sure about that game in particular, but I do think that there is a lot of opportunity surrounding decently made boardgames on tablets.

CRM stands for Customer Relationship Management, it's software that is designed to keep your contacts and customers stored and related in a meaningful and useful way.

There are a bunch of CRM products in Play:

I like this idea, are you thinking like a filemanager where you could navigate to a directory and then drag the contents over to an icon or directory representing one of several remote computers?

Are you using a CRM system currently? SugarCRM or FatFreeCRM are free. A Sugar client might be an idea, I ran an enterprise project doing Sugar integration, so I have some familiarity with it. That's not a bad idea.

I hate printers. In fact, one of the reasons that I had wanted a tablet for so many years was so that I could stop printing so much stuff out, and avoid dealing with those awful machines.

It wasn't really difficult, but I was already running custom ROMs for months. I am not really current on the procedures, so I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction there. It really depends on what you want/need. If you're getting boot loops, it sounds like your current ROM isn't working out too well, and you might benefit from switching.

I would bet that ARM support for software will improve as time goes on, at least for the stuff that's being actively developed.

Hah! Yes, it can be flaky. However, I haven't hit a reboot loop cycle since I started using one of the new unofficial CM9 ROMs for my TF101. Battery life is pretty good, even leaving the wifi on.

I downloaded AIDE, but haven't gotten a chance to play with it. What I'm thinking about with Cloud9 is that there are plugins to support different languages, and projects that bring different compilers to android. So this idea seems at least possible. I'm looking at Cloud9 specifically because it is extensible (plugins to support different languages), and I think that I have a path to getting it ported to a native app.

I've looked a bit at Cloud9's code, but mainly just to get it up and running on my server, it's kind of a mess. I have some ideas about how I might go about porting it over, but I haven't really figured out what the game-plan is yet. I think that first I need to know that there's enough interest to warrant my spending a couple of months on this problem.

EDIT: Oh, and your javadoc problem certainly seems like it would be an easy one to tackle. I could see writing an app that would allow you to share from the web browser to this app, something like 'download this site', and it would traverse the structure from the link to everything below and save it to some local resource. Then, the user could open the app and would have a list of saved sites to choose from. Clicking one of those would just display the local version of the site. Some logic would need to be put in place to replace all references of the remote server with the local copy, but it should be possible. Something to think about.

I thought that there were ports of Ubuntu that you could boot into and get this. Might be wrong, but at least I thought that they were available and working on the TF101.

I'm also using AirDisplay, and it works pretty well with a decent wifi connection.

The reason that I went with AirDisplay over iDisplay, aside from the reviews, was that iDisplay has not seen an update since Oct 2011. The website for iDisplay is confusing and difficult to find the correct PC-side downloads, and there were features promised but seemingly abandoned by the dev.

omg I would love that for my transformer.

What specifically? A Cloud9 port? I think that if I can determine that enough people are interested in this, I might get started on it. I have an idea about how to do it that I think would be feasible. Or, at least that I could do it in a within a couple of months.

I dont think ubuntu for android would make it useless.

What I meant was that I'm concerned that Ubuntu would offer much more choice in software designed for laptops/netbooks than I could provide. There are probably a dozen IDEs out there that would run fine on a Transformer with Ubuntu on it. So, my concern is spending a bunch of time building something and then by the time I finish, Ubuntu is out with better options.

That said, I think that there is something to be said for offering native apps, even if there is a comparable package available for Ubuntu on Android.

I'm wondering if they'll be able to roll this out with better success than the TF201.

I need to land another contract gig if I want to pick one of these up. Really want one.

Me and a friend are developing an App, and we're stuck at creating a decent interface. The app is basic, but we want it looking good. Where to start??? by slavishmuffinin androiddev

The two platforms can be very different, and using design patterns from iOS can be downright infuriating to the Android user. I've got an iPod at my desk for testing purposes, next to all of my Android devices. There are lots of little hidden buttons and things that you can interact with, that may be neat and unique and interesting to the average iOS user, but as an Android user, I expect to see buttons that give me some idea of what they are going to do, and not need to spend any time hunting around for them. The ActionBar is one example of a really solid step forward on the Android side, as it gives developers a place to organize the main functionality of their app, while allowing for spillover into an extra button. If you're an Android dev starting out, and wanting to learn the 'right way' to do UI stuff, looking at the iPhone is not a good place to start. I'm not saying that iOS is worse than Android, just different, and that the two platforms really should be treated differently.

Found an nes controller at a thrift store for just €1,50, decided to make a usb hub out of it. (crosspost from /r/nintendo) by connycollin somethingimade

[–]emil10001 0 points1 point ago

I did this back in college. It was a fun project, but didn't turn out too well. There were two basic issues, first was a poor soldering job on my part, which I think I went back in and fixed. The other was poor driver support, making it difficult to actually use the controller at all with my computer. I remember enjoying it a bit playing an NES emulator, but that beyond that, it didn't get much use.
