won't HTML 5 based intrusive ads have the power to be even worse though

Well you write a Web service to abstract it... So the specific code goes there. Otherwise there is literally no other option.

well they don't make money from the desktop market... they kinda gave up on that. IMHO they should have tried to focus on more corporate features such as calendar/exchange syncing etc. their current business model is just more of the same

I am more than happy to do my bit!

I'm staying, apparently, for the first 4 nights in the hotel Saratoga... Is it ok? Also I have three more nights to work out where to go and what to do... So if you have any ideas I'd appreciate it.

I'll be on my own too... I guess there are few redditors meeting up there :p

It is pretty good. I got it because i didnt want to have to buy an ebook reader, a tablet and a phone.

I read a lot of technical documents. I wear jackets a lot so carrying it isnt a problem and even with the s2 i was taking it out of my pocket when i was sitting down etc so nothng has really changed.

The biggest thing to note is that once you have it all other phones feel tiny

I am with three UK and have been for 2 years. But my contract has just been rolling for 1 year. So they called me up to make an offer to sign for 2 years. However they fucked it up and took away my bolt on for unlimited data. I found it near impossible dealing with their indian call center staff. So i have another business contract (soon to expire) so i asked them for my PAC code. So they went nice and gave me ton of minutes/texts + unlimited data for £12 a month + £180 gift vouchers + free shitty phone. Will sell it and get 100 quid. Never been used :)

well the official failure rate for them is 54% (and i think thats conservative) and the thread you are commenting on is about how the product doesn't support the main file distribution system of their own making (which this submission is about). So yes he was a tad glib saying shitbox; however i think its up to you to come up with any further argument instead of trying to put out a fire that doesn't exist.

Can someone explain why this should be a kickstarter project? Surely its nothing more than 5k for the author, which is all fair enough... except I doubt the author's free time is influenced much by money (could be wrong!).

The implication is that there is no real need for this bit of software or the author would have completed it to fulfill his own requirements already. I just don't think it is sporting to run around asking for cash to work on a niche hobby project like this and I believe it does somewhat of a disservice to the community.

I also don't feel the name is appropriate... you willl note other emacs clones use a suitably differentiating naming scheme, e.g microEMACS/zile etc. This "emacsy" has the potential to confuse the fuck out of new users when googling etc. And the last thing emacs adoption needs is even more confusion.

And to make it worse any mention of this is the author's self promotion.

Sorry dude!
