Actually i think its as likely to do with a strategic assault on google for taking 3 billion in tax revenue away from them and germany and the UK.

Little bit more to the google thing than that though.

France and Germany are ultra pissed at google because they moved to Dublin. So all revenue in Europe for google is recognised there. It has been a point of contention for years.

This means google pays 12.5% tax in Dublin. IN france they would pay 33% and in germany about the same. Thing is this is not only legal but just about the only reason ireland can stay afloat right now. Without this Tax rate Ireland is dead in the water. It is so far below any other major country. I've no proof.. but you can be sure someone important in France instructed their cheese club co chair to give google a hard time.

I mean they might have a point... but France is a very bizarre legal world in some ways.

I've also just noticed i'm in r/conspiracy ... and i actually postulated a conspiracy without realising!

Just a small counter point I've noticed... you are right about not taking it so religiously. However when trying to form a habit, allowing yourself leeway early on in the program is very likely going to lead to a longer term failure. Been there done that
