Yes it does. Yes, you will.
30 days. Dharun Ravi sentenced to *30 days* in jail. by shapterjmin lgbt

This may be unpopular, but I honestly think this is fair. 30 days in prison, counseling, and a 10,000 fine. Look, Ravi seems to me (as someone who followed this case extensively) like a dumb, sheltered, attention-seeking jackass. But I don't think he meant for Clementi to be truly harmed, and he was an 18 year old kid. We all do dumb, shitty things at that age when we are learning about consequences and empathy and figuring out our place in the world. That Clementi is dead is a tragedy, but I don't think Ravi's actions directly caused his death, though they may have been a factor.
I think my wife of 17 years is being unreasonable, wants me to quit a good paying job and move. by needanswersintnin relationships

You live in a town of 50k people? I'd want to move too.
My mom and I finished sewing my wedding dress today. by eadinadin TwoXChromosomes

Haha, exactly. Or whenever gay marriage becomes legal here and we get a bonus shindig.
That beach BBQ wedding sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe I'll do that for my next one. ; )
It's all planned at this point... just waiting for it to finally get here! I'm so ready.
Sent you a PM. : )
I did do the beading myself, on top of the lace and appliques. It's like a blush pink, I think. Can turn more peach or more pink depending on the lighting as you can see.
Hooray for curls!
Hah, it's actually a hotel room door. We don't live near to each other.
It was pretty simple. I ordered everything from the Etsy shop "MaryNotMartha." Then I cut the ribbon to fit my head, and sewed a hook and eye on the ends to fasten. I played with the flowers I ordered until it looked balanced and nice, then I hot glued them to the ribbon. Voila! Took like 20 minutes.
Well, it's not very traditional, but then neither am I! Thanks.

I actually keep a wedding blog. I'll PM you the site.
There's also some Etsy sellers who have fairly decently priced tulle skirts, so that's an option as well. If you're just making the skirt though it's not that hard, but you do have to figure out how to close it. Maybe make it a wrap skirt so you can just overlap and tie it? You could wear it over a half-slip, or make an underskirt separately. On my dress I just left the tulle open, aka didn't sew the seam up the side, but it's so fluffy you can't even tell.
Anyway, yes, my fiancée has already seen the dress. : ) I can't keep secrets from her!
It was actually a huge pain in the ass. Mostly because it moves all over the place and kept getting stuck in seams so we'd have to take them out, etc. You just have to pin and manhandle the stuff out of the way. But, it's really cheap, and hides a lot of errors so it does have some benefits. : )
Oh I forgot to mention, there's a peach silk layer under everything (skirt and bodice.) That skirt layer is a circle skirt, so it's really flowy. Don't forget to have an underskirt, or the bottom of your dress will be quite see-through. : )

No, she's not the dress type. She's wearing a white with beige pinstripes vest and pants, a ruffled white button up shirt, and tan oxfords. : )

Thanks! The whole wedding is going to be pretty whimsical. I made paper flower centerpieces, a fabric flower garland curtain as our ceremony backdrop, and it will be held in the morning with a brunch reception. Casual, intimate, and cheerful, with lots of pink, coral and orange. My fiancee is wearing a white with beige pinstripes vest and pants, a tuxedo-ruffled white button up shirt, and tan oxfords. (And she is a she, if that's not clear.)
Yeah, I've heard that before. Very nice, as she's beautiful.
The tulle bottom is 6 layers of tulle (mostly peach, a couple ivory). We cut the tulle into strips, with different lengths for the different tiers, but they all had the same width. I believe it was 150 inches Then we gathered and pinned the tulle onto a ribbon, staggering them slightly so that it would be a bit flatter. Then we also sewed straight lines over the tops of the gathered tulle to help flatten it out, and then sewed the ribbon into the bodice. Does that answer your question?

: )
I grew up sewing, yes, and my mom made many special occasion dresses for me throughout the years. It took us about 5 intensive weekends working around the clock to get it done.
Yep! Ceremony on a dock on a lake, reception inside a small historic building and on the surrounding grounds.

Didn't consciously think about Degas, but you're so right! I do love his drawings.

Yes, it definitely isn't a safe choice. I did have some moments of regret wondering if I should have gone for something more grown up and classic, but when I put it on I feel like laughing and my fiancée's face lights up, so it's the right one.
