But I'm confused by the tone of your response. You have spent a great deal of time and effort researching this subject, and yet you are suggesting that others should not do the same before forming an opinion on it.

I really don't understand the objection people are raising when I suggest that someone understand something before dismissing it. You are informed and provided evidence to back up your opinion. I'm ok with that. Why is it so unreasonable to expect others to do the same?

The OP I responded to was insulting the intelligence of conspiracy theorists while seemingly being very uninformed on what the controversies are. I'm not suggesting the moon landing is real or not, I'm simply saying you should know what the fuck you are talking about before you say it's false.

So how do you respond to willful ignorance? This is kind of like discussing the existence of a god with a fundie. If you don't care about things like facts, then the discussion is moot.

You on the other hand have offered no additional insight into this discussion other than your opinion is that other people should have opinions, and I don't have an opinion on that either, because I don't see how my opinion on whether or not other people have opinions should change my opinion on opinions.

I personally don't think it is a good idea to just blindly accept what the government tells you as truth. If you are suggesting that we should blindly accept anything without first examining the available evidence, then you and I have a fundamental disagreement and there really isn't anything more to discuss.

If however you just don't agree with the theory, that's fine, and I'm not arguing whether we did or did not land on the moon, I simply suggested that he become informed on the subject before rendering judgment on it, as you should with any subject.
