Abortion is different. There is a line between where we consider a fetus to be a person and where we consider it not to be. People on different sides of the abortion debate only argue about where that line is drawn. Some people think it should be drawn at conception (a fetus is always a person). Others think it should be drawn somewhere between there and birth. The point is that as long as the abortion happens before that line, you're not infringing on anyone's rights, because the fetus is not yet a person.

An infant, however, is a person, and bodily integrity is a right; wouldn't you agree? Shouldn't that right trump someone else's (the parents') right to freedom of religion?

Jane Eyre was pretty bad and I responded to someone else who read it, but it at least had a semblance of a story.

The motherfucking WORST was A Light in August by Faulkner. Holy crap was that just a mess of fucked-up, shocking yet ultimately boring imagery. And of course when we analyzed it we had to somehow frame the "protagonist" (if you could call him that) as a Christ figure and.. yeah. Just no. What the hell. As I Lay Dying was a lot better, IMO.

Fucking christ this book. I only read about 1/10 of it, gave up, read the sparknotes of the rest, ended up getting a 98% on the test anyway. BULLSHIT MASTER. The sparknotes revealed that it was just as boring as I expected it to be.

What the hell does that even mean?

If you're doing cubism or something, sure, you don't need perspective. But when you're doing a realistically-rendered picture portraying a universe that obeys the real-world laws of physics and geometry, why wouldn't you use proper perspective?

I've seen lots of artists like this: they work on their finishing polish way more than their fundamentals, and you end up with pictures that look nice on the surface, but are absolutely riddled with errors in perspective, proportion, anatomy, and so on. Looking through the rest of this guy's gallery, I can understand why; he's done a lot of landscapes, surreal stuff, logo design etc. nothing that really requires a strong understanding of perspective.

Wut? My only guess is that they were trying to get a fisheye effect (notice the curved top edge of the wall), but failed to take into account the fact that with a fisheye lens, ALL straight lines become curved.

It's right on the border of Asia and Europe, and used to be part of the USSR. At least from what I've seen of the Armenian-Americans, their culture is a lot like eastern Europe. Armenia is, after all, the oldest Christian nation and as a result their culture has been influenced less by Islam than its neighbors. Most of the Armenians I've seen around here dress and act very eastern European, though that could be a local thing.
