How does r/Beer feel about mixing different beers together?

Funny Story:

Hanging out at Old Orange Brewing Company shortly after they opened their tasting room. They had an American Strong Ale they call "Old Dummy" and a delectable porter they call "Statesman". My buddy asked the bartender to blend them half and half. He had heard one of his friends had tried it blended and liked it so he wanted to give it a shot.

The brewer came up when he overheard the order and asked why he was blending em. Sure enough, a few people around the bar said that they'd heard recently about blending the two and the brewer started distributing blended samples to the people sitting around on the conversation. Everyone liked it.

Sure enough, we went back a couple weeks later and the "Dum Statesmen" was on the tasting menu - a half-half blend of the two beers.

Here's how I judge for myself:

I come home from work after a long tiring day and just want to crack a tasty beer. This is pretty often - several times a week. How do I know what my motivation is? Easy; I've got about 25 Guinness' leftover from St. Patrick's Day sitting in my fridge. If I don't have any "good" beer (call it an IPA, Stout, Porter) I just won't have a beer. Even though I've got some perfectly good beer in the fridge, I won't drink it because it doesn't bring me the pleasure that a high quality micro does. I don't drink just to drink. This is how I know that my motivation is enjoyment of flavors and the beer drinking experience and not just primal urge to drink.

Palaner Hefeweizen is a good first beer, I'd say. Reasonable price, flavorful, and drinkable.

My first beer was a Bud Light I snuck from my parents' garage when I was probably 10. I drank it in my neighbors' parked RV with their daughter. I remember how full it made me feel and how much I hated the taste. Still hate the taste.
