Ah I see what you are saying now- point taken. I'm going to leave my down-vote for your original comment though, as IMHO you missed an easy chance to teach.

True, but isn't that the whole point of using a branching factor of 32 rather than two -- a trade of space for time?

Speaking not-theoretically, having a e.g 10-million element vector implemented as a typical linear block of memory means O(1), or one real calculation to find the desired entry. Implemented as a balanced binary tree means O(log n) complexity, but in this case n actually is 10M, so in practice the average lookup cost is about 23 comparisons. With a branching factor of 32, we get an average of 4-5 lookups. Five is certainly more than one, but not necessarily that much.

Anyway, the point is in the OP's statement, the "32" is important in O(log_32 n).

Look, all I did was spend 60 seconds and one search, and found tons of individual doctors in my area listed as taking money from pharma companies. here is an example. I'm not making a political statement one way or another, just saying that individuals are listed.

Edit: spelling

Don't believe for a moment that there is no profit motive. There are many mandates from school systems and governments that say if you want to sell your products to the school system for example, you must meet various accessibility standards.

I am not for a moment saying that there aren't awesome people at Apple, Microsoft, etc. that want to produce amazing products that are fully accessible. Just that sometimes a society might need to guide for-profit corporations a bit.

edit: clarity

Yes, I read the whole thing before posting -- even the comments. My point, perhaps a bit too subtle, is that these DNS entries show his domain uses Google Apps for your domain. Probably also implying that he uses calendar, docs, wiki (sites), etc. because it's so darn convenient. Even if you start by using just email and promise to take backups of the mail (e.g. via IMAP), soon you have hosted calendars, docs, and so on, and the backup gets harder...
