TROPHY CASE

Florida's New Helmet? by bobosaursin CFB

[–]corkill 0 points1 point ago

I also remember 2007 (I was at Bryant-Denny for that game), and that is why I was taken aback at UGA fans being so sure of a blowout against us. It took 3OT for y'all to barely beat us in that game and that, unlike 2008, was still a re-building year for our program. I was expecting, and looking forward to, another nail-biter of a game in Athens. But, every time I would say as much to a Dawg, I would get shot down with "pre-season #1, etc."

Not Power Rangers, y'all looked like the Incredibles had taken the field.

As a Gump, I hate to say it, but that helmet does look pretty sweet. Oh God.... It burns.... It burns...!!!

I still have such fond memories of the "Blackout." Esp. since I live in ATL and had to hear all the smack talk leading up that game... "pre-season #1, y'all don't stand a chance, it won't even be close, etc..."

Payback and schadenfreude are so sweet! :)

Also... UGA's normal unis are very classy and classic, so I never quite understood why you guys would ever go with gimmicks.

First you need to define homework.

"Hey Girl!" hot guys saying supportive things to teachers. by bschlotzin Teachers

Nice way to perpetuate that all teachers are/should be women, which is part of why we all get paid far less than we should; "women's work" being devalued in our society.

It can cause people to just twist anything to support their cause and feel justified, and then others listen to it and feel that it's legit.

By being involved in debate, one learns how to spot this in others' arguments, not just use it for evil genius plans to take over the world.

Obama: Jesus would back my tax-the-rich policy by tardibearin politics

[–]corkill 1 point2 points ago

You didn't mention Old and New Testaments. You did mention "characters," of which God is one, who did change drastically from the Old to New Testament. Also, the character of Jesus does stay consistent and it is this specific Biblical character which is is being reference by Obama, not the Bible in general. So, you are right in that the Bible can be used to support conflicting opinions/ideas/etc., but the article is about using Jesus to support an argument, not the Bible as a whole.

The National Archives unveiled its 715-year-old copy of Magna Carta on Thursday after a conservation effort removed old patches and repaired weak spots in the English declaration of human rights that inspired the United States' founding documents. by skreendreamz1in history

They were considered human, just not citizens with the rights citizens enjoy. In the constitution they are referred to as "other Persons" and it states in Article I Section 2 that "other Persons" shall be counted as 3/5 a person for determining representation in Congress.

Please point out where Jesus has this drastic change. You are right on the difference between the Old and New Testament God.

Wealth accrued by the empire was NOT used to feed the needy or clothe the poor.

Not true. It was used to feed and entertain the poor of Rome. ie Bread and Circuses.

Spain orders $500M in gold found under the Atlantic by US treasure hunters back home. US courts agree. by aybin worldnews

Longer lifespan? You mean of the 10% that survived the diseases brought and intentionally spread by Europeans?

Knowledge? The Maya (and Aztec Empire through them) had a much better grasp of astronomy than Europeans did at the time. They also had developed the concept of zero on their own, something the Europeans had to acquire from India via the Arabs.

Avoiding sacrifice? The Jesuits burned plenty of Native Americans alive for their God and the affronts they thought the Native Americans had made towards Him.

Culture? All societies have culture... that was probably the most fucking ignorant part of your whole damn idiotic argument.
