yeah... at three years and 50% that comes to a measly $100,000 a year in take home pay. Who is gonna work for that?!

Grilled with onions on a skewer. Served medium rare. Really good.

Very. But that's also because Iceland has high prices and high taxes. My one skewer came to about twenty dollars US.

They're good but they're not THAT good. I've had truffles with high end dinners a few times and they taste... nutty. That's the best way to describe it. I mean they're tasty, but the taste isn't why people go nuts over them. They're hard to find and rare and can't be grown commercially, so people build up this aura around them to justify paying huge amounts of money. Don't feel like you're missing out if you can't eat truffles.

Whale meat. And then I did. And I never will again.

I was curious because of the lack of availability and the strong social taboo in the west, so when I was in Iceland I tried it. Turns out Minke whale is delicious. it tastes like very tender beef with tons of flavor.

That being said... given the unbelievable cruelty of whaling, I will never eat it again.

Redditors, What Simple Concepts Do You Still Have Trouble Wrapping Your Head Around? by TAWPin AskReddit

I dunno man. All you have to do is be truthful. I mean you have nothing to gain by lying on an anonymous forum. Now when I won 17 gold medals in the LA Olympics, that was a different story. You had a lot to lose there. You can also lose a lot by lying when you're on the international space station, which I visited last year on a private flight I chartered.

Some people man. No scruples.

Exchange rates. I work internationally in finance and have been for awhile. Exchange rates still break my brain and it's a simple concept, but I still have to sit there and go "ok... so now this currency is trading at this... so that means that it takes this much to buy this in this currency" and do the transaction slowly in my head. My brain can't process FX rates without me sitting down to think about it.

Pula is an incredible city. I can also recommend Rovinj and Porec. Both are amazing. You will eat the best food of your life there.

Also, everyone hangs out on the beach in Croatia in the summer so hanging out on the beach or arriving in a boat won't draw the slightest amount of attention. It's a very water oriented country. Your trip is totally doable with the right equipment.

150 miles in 7 days isn't going to be feasible in an inflatable kayak. If you're going into open sea you're going to need a sea kayak with a spray skirt in case of conditions. An inflatable is going to give you issues with tracking and you won't be able to roll should you flip, and if it's loaded with gear you're going to have a hard time righting it, even in calm seas.

I've traveled extensively there and you're going to have to deal with prevailing winds that will push you out to sea. The locals in Croatia call us "Bura" and it blows from the mountains down to the sea. Sea to mountain wind is called "Yugo".

While you can sleep on beaches, you're going to have issues landing. The beaches in Croatia are very rocky and while you can get smooth pebble beach there are a lot of sheer (and very sharp) cliffs and sharp rocks at landings that would absolutely destroy an inflatable kayak.

My advice is to do a little research and rent kayaks for the trip and rent sea kayaks with spray decks. You should also plan on 10 days instead of 7. 10-15 miles a day is much more manageable and you won't arrive at your campsite exhausted.

20 miles in a single day is tiring even in calm seas for most people, because that represents 6 hours of constant paddling. 5 hours if you're really fast. To put that in perspective, go get on a treadmill and set a light jog and don't stop for 5 hours.

I'm downvoting this because instead of saying "what can I make with these ingredients" you went with 13 year old internet speak in a subreddit for adults? Wat do? Use adult language.

pre diabetic usually means that your body is starting to have trouble processing sugar and insulin and without an immediate and dramatic lifestyle change you will become diabetic.

Hah, no.

Primary and secondary education and the interactions I had with other people during those years are not substitutable for the shallow experience of clicking around on the web.

Yeah that 36k was the round the world. According to the GPS we had a SLIGHT current on the way out. We gained 1kph going out but lost 2kph once we rounded the pole and the tide shifted.
