Gianluigi Buffon is a brick house. I won't even try to start comparing him to Neuer but it amazes me that an Italian team poised to do quite well in the Euros is only represented by Pirlo here on reddit... clearly we see the hive mind's biases. Come on Reddit, watch more Serie A!

Those are interesting points. Normally I use google news, which usually turns up stuff from la repubblica or corriere, and some calcio italia blogs. However I've found that most of the time ESPN has little to no experience with soccer, so English, at least from an informative standpoint (bias or not) is more useful.

That doesn't really answer my question or discount AT's opinion, all you did was give your own. If you're able to give an example or two, it would help. However while I do speak a little Italian, I'm not fluent, and of the English speaking sources, English > American (his link is ESPN, based out of Connecticut).

I prefer Al Jazeera English for international news, how is preferring UK coverage hypocritical? And yes, by nature, this topic is very rumor-prone. Look at all the different opinions running around about Drogba. He's going to Shanghai! Wait, no, his agents dismissed it! But his teammates says he told them!

So exactly what's wrong with AT qualifying his statement?

Found out my girlfriend has been cheating on me for the last 2 months, I've honestly never felt this low in my life, how do people deal with these kind of feelings? by s_dafuq_jin AskReddit

[–]cloud7 0 points1 point ago

Hey man. I've been there, too. jjalsop's advice is great. One point I'd like to emphasize is that, at the time, I didn't understand how someone could do something so shitty to someone who trusted them. People can be cruel. Don't try to rationalize, your thoughts will go around in circles for weeks. Forget about it. Do anything therapeutic you can for yourself. Take some time out from studying and go for a swim, definitely do NOT sit in your room all day. Get some exercise and get those endorphins pumping, make sure you start to get comfortable with yourself again. This relationship did not define you, neither did she. You didn't fail, she did.

The best advice I wish I had gotten was to always hold onto your dignity. You will regret the late-night phone calls, the fifteen times you ask just to talk to her one last time, just to try to get closure. YOU WILL NOT GET CLOSURE. This is not going to make sense until a month or so from now when you finally start becoming objective about it again.

This is a really interesting moment that can truly impact your character. Cherish this opportunity. When a man is broken down, it is the best time of his life, as he is then able to rebuild himself the way he always envisioned. DO IT.

When I was cheated on, I watched this interview of Tom Hardy for the movie Bronson for weeks on youtuberepeater.com. A redditor gave it to me. It'll do you good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RstefCPs3kU

I wish I could give you a hug, buddy. Nobody deserves these feelings. Not even the bitch who did it to you. Remember that. Be the man here, and try to let all those feelings go. They're over, and you have an opportunity to be awesome and show everyone how great you are. Take some time over the next week or two to be weak, it's natural. After, carpe diem.

PM me if you ever want to vent. If you have skype and you feel like yelling or crying or just talking, we can do that too. Bro hug.

Best, Evan (cloud7)

Match Thread: Juventus vs Napoli - Coppa Italia Final by deltron00in soccer

[–]cloud7 1 point2 points ago

That's a good point, although that's the same reason I would have put him in. If there was ever a time to play passionately (angrily, what have you) it is in the dying minutes of a cup final. But I was not aware Fabio would be so affected. Clearly Aronica is mostly to blame, while there is bound to be jostling before a corner, he had "the Quags" as I shall now call him, in a veritable choke-hold. Luckily it didn't affect the impact of the game either way. It was nice to see how Juve carried themselves with class the whole way through. I sincerely hope they do very well in the CL next year. I would like the three Italian teams to go much farther, to give some well deserved respect to Serie A - I hate how good players see it as a stepping stone to richer leagues. While I would much rather have seen Udinese lose, giving Napoli the last CL spot, this did not happen and therefore the duty of beating Chelsea will hopefully be awarded to another Italian team.

I was not surprised to see Cavani score, but it blew me away when Hamsik did. Absolutely impressed at his work throughout the season, I am so glad he loves l'azzurro ed i partenopei enough to sign a contract extension and devote more years to the club. It is great to see a player enthusiastic about a club and region, rather than just being in it for the money.

In case you weren't aware, Lavezzi is almost certainly leaving. Cavani has not hinted either way, and at this point he may indeed stay. Hamsik has already signed a contract extension. My hope is that the money they receive from PSG for Lavezzi (~30M) will be used to help keep Cavani happy. Pandev is a fine replacement for Lavezzi, I think we should worry more about bolstering our defense. It seems i tre tenori are going to be i due in a short time, although Hamsik has about as many goals as Lavezzi. Hamsik to me is much more of a critical player (behind Cavani, of course). What is sad to me, is that so many great players choose to leave Serie A due to financial reasons. I hate that the Italian league is considered a stepping-stone to the Premier league. Hopefully Juve, AC Milan, and Udinese will do well in CL next year and gain gli italiani some well deserved respect.

So what exactly was your comment for? Now you claim ignorance? Don't try to tell me I'm stupid, I know what you were doing. It wasn't funny. Turning it around on me is not doing anything.

SoCal and LA in general have very strict requirements for having buildings be up to code with regards to earthquakes, as the San Andreas fault is close and the area is earthquake prone. So the modern buildings (i.e. a majority of SoCal) are very strongly built. The buildings destroyed in Emilia-Romagna today were very old... on the order of 800 years or so. They were relics. They didn't have protocol for reinforcing shoddy masonry back then.

Another problem in Italy today is that the government hasn't done much to try to maintain historical places, buildings, artifacts, etc. Pompeii is a perfect example.

HAHA Making fun of Italians is so funny!!!! LOL I saw that family guy episode too!

Google translate, or better yet, learn another language. Your comment is idiotic. You may have meant to be funny, but it's really childish. Not to come off as a prick, but too many people stereotype Italian-Americans, so I'm forced to take harsh stands on these sorts of things. It's totally OK to say bippi bappa buppi but it's not OK to make fun of an asian accent in public, am I right? I hate double standards.

I did this as well. I am so glad the match threads include links to streams so I do not have to rely on my own (limited) internet savvy to try and find a stream that will not give viruses to my computer.

I upvoted you as I respect your opinion, however I disagree. For example, after the Chelsea - Bayern game yesterday, I went back to the match thread to look at some commentary about the game, and usually those threads are used for comments during the game. However, the "Congratulations Chelsea" thread had some more insight from fans, analysis, predictions for each team, etc. They are useful in their own way.

Very proud moment. Sad to see Quagliarella in such bad form, but Cannavaro (and Napoli in general) deserve this moment.

If it helps, I downvoted as well. This was a hard game, and very exciting. Juve has many world-class players and they showed it. But you can't win them all. Congrats on a great season, see you at the Super Cup!
