Years ago I watched a Simpsons episode where a character said that 'Paradigm' and 'Proactive' are just buzz words that dumb people use to sound smart. Now every time I hear anyone using them I get annoyed. What words or phrases piss you off and why? by Rosewater_Foundationin AskReddit

i hate when people use chill as an adjective when referring to a person or place, as in "he is a pretty chill bro." makes me wanna punch someone in the throat

there are at least three that i can think of. well, four if you include donny barley's shop fountain of youth that just closed up a couple weeks ago. the first one is in bristol and its called flipside. its a pretty small little place, but theyve got pretty much everything youd want as far as skate stuff. i go here for shoes sometimes because its close to my house, but im yet to buy a deck. the guy there tends to keep it pretty core to skating as far as offering exclusively skate brands and skate stuff. the other two shops are much bigger, but both arent exactly solely skate shops. theres civil in east greenwich and 7ply in westerly. theyre kinda out there but worth the trip if you want a wider selection of goods. that being said, both of these shops seem a little less core than flipside, due to the fact that they carry a lot of nike sb and stuff like that rather than solely skate companies like lakai, emerica, etc. overall id have to say my favorite is flipside, but civil and 7ply are definitely worth the trip.

How do you deal with security guards? by AscorGamesin skateboarding

[–]clockwisevarious 4 points5 points ago

its best to just be polite and leave if you're asked to. i know it sucks having some rentacop in your face telling you to fuck off, but its best not to retaliate. its just gonna make things worse, and its aggressive reactions by other skaters that cause them to expect you to be a dick as well. just say your sorry, leave, and come back later. as far as rights are concerned, chances are youll be trespassing or something of the sort, so you dont really have any right to be telling the guy to suck your dick or whatever. he also has every right to kick you out, and it is his job to do so. security guards cannot, however, lay a hand on you. if one does so, either hope you get it on camera, or just smash his teeth in with your board.
