What fully made me give up Islam altogether is thinking about how many religions there are, all of them with the same conviction as me that their religion is true. If god exists and he or she is all powerful wise and knowledgeable then there shouldn't be any room for disagreements/miscommunications in their "perfect book". So something didn't add up. The only reason why I was muslim was because I was born in it. I asked myself if I was from the outside looking in would I join Islam? The answer was no so that was my last day as a muslim.
