So NC State is our rival. Don't ever let a UNC fan tell you otherwise. If they do they have no sense of history or don't really pay attention to UNC basketball except for the 2 or 3 times a year we play Duke.

Unfortunately NC State has been down in athletics as a whole for the past decade. So the rivalry has take a back seat to the UNC/Duke rivalry. But really, the UNC/Duke rivalry is pretty much limited to basketball.

Having said all that if you want a good laugh, telling a NCSU fan they're not our rival is always fun.
