My brother is the guy who found the TimThumb vulnerability in WordPress. He has created WordFence which checks your entire install against the Wp repository. What do you guys think? Cross post from r/WordPress

Does this mean your brother found the vulnerability and then exploited it? If so, I'm pissed at him for the days I spent in repair - but he brings honor again to your family with WordFence. If he isn't the one who exploited the vulnerability, but rather discovered it for the world to repair it - then I tip my hat to him and he receives double-honor.

Really its from women who have a severe insecurity to begin with, who think that getting breast implants will make them more attractive and therefore build their self esteem. Because they are looking for external validation to establish internal worth, the "solution" rarely works which will lead to deeper depression, alcohol and drug use, and suicide if the core problem isn't addressed.

On a personal note, my wife got implants. Nothing excessive, and they look very natural for her frame. Yes, her breasts were small before, but I honestly didn't mind. She did, though. She was obsessed with hating on them and it was terribly annoying. Thinking about it would drive her to tears. So she got implants. Did it solve her insecurities? No, but it was one less thing to complain about and allowed her to focus on the real root of her insecurities more.

I honestly think its fun - if done right. I love the added depth in most instances. I would never want to see a Nolan Batman movie in 3D, and Rango looked so good because they didn't use 3D. Yet, I really like most movies in 3D that come out. It's fun.

I attempted suicide twice. Failed both times, obviously. I was hospitalized for over a month on the first one. Life spiraled out of control after that. I was surrounded by drugs, murder and death for years. One day I snapped out of it - ONE DAY. One minute, really, within that one day. It was like hitting a switch. Life completely changed for me. I'm now successful in business and social entrepreneurship, I meet with hundreds of people and change lives for the better across the globe. I meet with celebrities, wealthy business men and world leaders - yet I can count on one hand the friends I have. I don't mind being a "loner". I call it "private" to my associates. Most of the people I meet are posers and have never experienced life and pain to the extent that I have. They are selfish and greedy. Careful. Eventually perpetual liars will go to extreme measures to cover up their lies - even more extreme than you have. Your story reminds me of Mark Hacking. He told a very similar lie as you are telling. When his wife found out the truth, he killed her. Then tried to cover up the murder with another lie. Best to come clean man...

This is day one, for sure. I want to try and customize the experience the best I can to each student. The class is small enough I can do that. If I can tailor it to each interest and goal of the student, it will create more intrinsic value in what they are learning, and that will have a far greater result.

Definitely. Do inline styles exist any more? I shudder when I see that. The problem is that the school is having me teach them using Dreamweaver. While that's not necessarily bad, they could easily get used to some shoddy shortcut practices that produces bad code. I'll avoid that like the plague.

Great insights. I feel like my years in real world UX/UI will float me more toward these concepts. Knowing basic code, if they don't already know it, is essential but a very small part of what makes a well-rounded web designer. Beyond the basics, most code out there is written - expecting these guys to know how to code from scratch out of the box is like forcing students to hand draw math equations instead of using a calculator. The principles of web design and the real world execution are the most important. The class is small enough I can work with them on their level, but really have them start using Google Chrome's web dev tools or firebug to break down and play with existing sites. See how they tick.

I like quite a few things you brought up, and I'm sure I'll implement them in places. I like what you said about writing as well - I didn't think about that until you said it, but over the last decade I've written so much content for the sites I design that it really is essential to develop that as a skill.

The old syllabus didn't even have an entire class on CSS. Poor kids. HTML and CSS will be at the center, and I'll dive a bit into javascript with an emphasis on jQuery. I only have 40 hours with these kids - that's barely a work week. I feel like giving them the tools and confidence to discover how to do things on their own will be in their best interest.

I love the idea of redoing websites for non-profits and small local businesses. I've also collected a few reference sheets over the years that will help out.

One more thing I'm doing is bringing in an SEO/marketing expert. Designing pages with SEO and social media in mind is essential, IMO.

Besides starting low, be sure not to sound too "professional". Don't sound like a 15 year old kid, but talk like you would to a friend. This way he won't mistake you for too professional and try to take you to the bank.

Will you actually be able to verbally communicate with your programmer? Ya, you can get into details via written instruction and some mockups, but collaborate with your programmer. Verbal communication and collaboration with your programmer is essential. The programmer will have his or her own way of doing things that work for them based on your structure, but you'll have to talk about it. Are you looking for an in-house programmer or a "remote" programmer?
