TROPHY CASE

When I was 4, I heard my parents having sex the night before and proceeded to yell "Fuck me, fuck me!" to everyone at my cousin's birthday party. What funny/embarrassing stories from your childhood do you have reddit? by Peenersin AskReddit

"But dad why can't I go play with the porch monkeys?!?!??" Apparently after hearing African-Americans called "porch monkeys", one day in Wal-Mart, I am screaming and crying because I wanted to play with the porch monkeys. I suppose I thought they were actual monkeys.

My favorite waitress at my breakfast place is leaving in two weeks. What minor characters in your life would make you all mopey if they left? by SquirM87in AskReddit

I have nice little lady who checks identification/badges at my job. She doesn't even work for my company. She works as like a rent-a-cop. Every morning, rain or shine, she's out there with a smile and a "Good morning, sweetie." At Christmas time, I always get her a card and little cash. They don't make nearly as much as we do, and I know she appreciates it. She usually makes me get out the car for a hug.

She's rather elderly, and know she won't be out there forever, but some mornings I don't know what I would do if it wasn't for that pleasantry.

It would've been much better if they refused to acknowledge that Black History Month, and in turn black history, ever existed.

Accessible Intro to Econ books? by coefficientin AskSocialScience

[–]caykk -3 points-2 points ago

I'm no expert, by far, and I'd enjoy a much more comprehensive list. Books I've read that I've enjoyed:

Naked Economics by Charles Wheelan

Both the Freakonomics books

23 Things they don't tell you about capitalism by Ha-Joon Chang

Adapt by Tim Harford

Currently reading Basic Economics by Thomas Sowell

Also, I don't know how you feel about NPR, but I find the guys on the Planet Money podcast very informative. Here's a list from them. http://www.npr.org/blogs/money/2011/01/11/132649042/must-read-economics

A Demo of a new song we recorded last night. Thought I'd see what r/musicians thought, fire away. I'm the singer, by the way. by caykkin musicians

If this isn't the place for this, I apologize. I just don't think r/music would like it, and I was looking for more, I guess, pointers/critiques, than "Dude, you sux." I understand it's pop/punk bullshit, but we enjoy playing it.

It's an all ages punk show, so you're probably right; no one's going to be listening.

I agree with all of this, and I don't fault them at all for doing their job. I just don't like that I get worried about calling them for legitimate reasons (someone was vandalizing my neighbors house) for fear they'll arrest me.

I usually voice this concerns to them. They answer with, "Why would we arrest you?" Cause you're the police, it's what you do.

I suppose I just think they view their job as, "To arrest people." Not, "To help people."

I feel like you added the phrase "witty banter" to confuse Americans into thinking the UK is all "The Office" and "Spaced".

The black guy was doing it wrong. First off. Don't get shit confused. We live in a police state. Second. They have guns. You're always wrong. It's awesome to say, "Yo bro, you can't kick my ass for no reason!" Tell him that while he's kicking your ass for no reason.

tl;dr Black guy was in the wrong. Why? Black in public.

Had to go back and check that out. For a second, I thought her tit was on the other girls head. Like some strange form of tea-bagging.
