but you're working on the assumption that:

(any 1 drug's good fx - that 1 drug's bad fx) < ( [any 1 drug's good fx * n(any other drugs' good fx)] - [any 1 drug's bad fx * n(any other drugs' bad fx)])

and yes, that is a valid formulaic statement. (if I din't make a mistake somewhere.)

Here's a definitive medical source.

The symptoms of a head injury can occur immediately or develop slowly over several hours or days.

Stiff neck or vomiting

All I see in that link is where it says "Do not leave the person alone for 24 hours." Which is ENTIRELY different than saying "Watch out for the onset of any other new symptoms within 24 hours."

EDIT:

In fact it SPECIFICALLY says:

.3. When to See a Doctor

See a doctor immediately if the person experiences:

Increased drowsiness
Irritability or restlessness
Loss of strength in the hands or feet
Persistent vomiting
Worsening headache

and

.4. If symptoms persist or get worse, see a doctor.

Not in the slightest. Read the actual text he wrote. When his title says "a day later" he obviously is saying "the next day." And as I wrote, anything within 48 hours is an obvious sign of potential brain trauma.

Sure, but that's different in both quality and quantity. Everyone who looks at Niagara Falls is shocked and impressed with the obvious power that it has, and the power generation is run by equally massive generators. But a simple campfire today is considered to be one of the meekest of power sources that's pretty much only good for keeping your feet warm, roasting marshmallows, and casting a dim atmospheric light on the area. Yet this humble campfire can now power your ultra-hightech smart phone.

Apparently you are the one who didn't pay attention to what he wrote. No where did he write that it was 24 hours before the symptoms onset. And even if it WERE 24 hours before the other symptoms onset, that's still well within the range of temporal correlation where it would be a very important warning sign not to be ignored. Any new onset symptoms within 48 hours after a head trauma would be a sign for serious concern. And as I said, no where did he say it was 24 hours later anyway.

Seriously! How do people not get this?! The guy got hit in the head, and a few hours later he has a fever and he's puking - this isn't rocket science! Nor is this advanced medicine. This is simple common sense. If you hit your head really hard, and then a few hours later you notice any type of significant other health problems, then get yourself to a fucking hospital immediately!!!

Sure, it might just be coincidence that after he hit his head he suddenly also got sick with a bad flu, but it's also entirely possible that he's got a broken blood vessel in his brain that's causing him to have these symptoms and it might KILL him within the next few hours.

There's something very intriguing about the idea of an ultra-hightech device like a smartphone running on the power of an ultra-lowtech source like a simple camp fire.

I'M not saying this, but I believe those people think that a cat will be able to survive just fine outside on their own because they see other stray cats who seem to be fine. Obviously this is incredibly stupidly wrong, but I believe that's what they think.

Almost as good as trying to cancel a print job (Pic) by schnuckin apple

[–]breakneckridge 14 points15 points ago*

I disagree. For many people it's important to have a visible indicator that a process is going on which might be using resources and slowing your computer down. For instance if you're about to start an important video chat meeting then you want to know that your computer isn't in the middle of doing something else that might cause technical problems with the video chat meeting.

And it's important for non-experts to be aware that the trash is still emptying, because then if they tried to put something else into the trash it would pop up a message saying "sorry, you can't do that right now because the trash is still emptying". But then they'd open up their trash window and either still see their garbage there and wonder why it isn't gone even though they emptied the trash, or they'd see an empty trash folder and get angry at the machine for saying the trash isn't done emptying yet when clearly it is. And if they're waiting for the trash to finish emptying before they can do something they want to do, they need an indicator to tell them when they can proceed.

Though I will agree that having the trash-emptying message be an uncloseable window isn't the best solution. Perhaps they could simply make a trash icon in the dock which symbolizes that the trash is still in the process of being emptied, or something like that.

For now, if you aren't interested in seeing the trash progress bar anymore then you can just hit the yellow (minimize) button.

Was Jesus just imitating God? by AlwaysConstantin religion

[–]breakneckridge 0 points1 point ago

That has to be the most illogical simplistic reasoning I've heard in a long time.

If he was a liar he would not have voluntarily gone to his own death,

There's no evidence that he voluntarily agreed to be crucified.

and his teachings did not coincide with those of a liar.

Totally ridiculous statement, there's no clear category of "things a liar would tell people to do" vs. "things a non-liar would tell people to do." There are plenty of people who lie and yet will try to tell people to do good things, including telling other people not to lie. And that statement is totally unsupported to boot. We don't know anything that Jesus said, all we know is what other people SAID that he said, which at the very earliest was written down a couple of decades after Jesus died. Human beings are miles away from having accurate memories, especially when the person has an emotional reason to want to remember things in a certain light. Jesus may've said much or even all of what the bible says he said, but obviously the bible EXCLUDES the majority of what he did say. He could've said plenty of things that you'd typically expect a liar to say, but they just weren't written down.

If he was a lunatic he wouldn't have been able to say and do such profound things.

Seriously, do you really need me to explain to you why this statement is all kinds of wrong?
