6 Reasons ‘Why Women Aren’t Crazy’ is Only Part of the Story - a non gender binary discussion of gaslighting by megaSAHDin Equality

[–]booyahbd 0 points1 point ago

All too often, it appears that articles on gender issues require victimization and labeling an agressor, even when it isn't the case. I'm glad someone wrote a concise and reasonable response to 'Why Women Aren't Crazy'

Regarding the Suppression of Men’s Issues in Our Public Discourse by megaSAHDin Equality

[–]booyahbd 9 points10 points ago

This is r/equality, not r/feminism.

We are all responsible for everyone's rights. The fact that men have to cut their rapist a child support check every month is absolutely disgusting. Not being able to see your children because the wife raised a false abuse allegation is horrifying. Not being taken seriously when a woman beats the hell out of you is dangerous. Sorry if our whining inconveniences you.

Should we use gender-neutral pronouns instead of 'he' and 'she'? by impotent_ragein GenderEgalitarian

[–]booyahbd 5 points6 points ago

Gender pronouns are often used as a means of distinction. I was talking to him, I was talking to her, etc. We shouldn't use them outside of cases where it makes communicating easier, but outright getting rid of different words for genders (that are in fact different) seems... silly.

...because Mormon doctrine doesn't allow for it. When you cherry pick what religious dogma you want to follow, you are simply not part of that religion. I have no idea why someone who is open minded towards homosexuality would want to associate with Mormonism. Can someone explain this to me? Am I missing something?

When men refer to their exes as “crazy” what I keep hearing is “she had emotions, and I did not like that.” by MidnightAriain GenderEgalitarian

[–]booyahbd 5 points6 points ago*

Bingo. From someone with a legitimately crazy ex (she attempted sperm-jacking from another guy in middle school), it makes me angry when a guy calls another woman crazy for something as simple as wanting closure. But, as stated, cringe-worthy writing.

What's your goto-car in the range of PP by norhorin GT5

[–]booyahbd 0 points1 point ago

Fastest around 650pp is the Chapparel 2J, or Ford GT if race cars aren't allowed. Very few production cars need rear downforce (and those that do need only a small amount), so don't bolt on the rear wing unless you have to. And if you do, don't crank up the down force all the way. This keeps unnecessary PP off your ratings, letting you run faster cars.

550-600pp goes to the Mazda RX-7, Acura/Honda NSX, Nissan GT-R, or Nismo Z Super Leggera. It depends on which one you're fastest with.

I usually don't race anything slower than that, so unfortunately that's all I can do for you...

I essentially said to lighten up, not that two wrongs make a right. The first word of my comment is referring to the original post. Gender stereotypes are something that get joked about by both sides, it is not a form of hatred and shouldn't be taken as such. If you don't appreciate the humor, fine, I totally get that. But calling it hate speech is a bit far in a casual forum/entertainment site.

Should We Be “Celebrating” Equal Pay Day Today — or in January? A detailed look at the wage gap by DougDantein Equality

[–]booyahbd 9 points10 points ago

It's as if the author didn't read the report.

It outright says that it's not something that can be attributed to discrimination. If you put a woman with equal experience and equal education in an equal job, she will earn the same. The wage gap is not about women getting paid less by the hour. For the other factors, men have been taking on an increasingly equal parenting role, and women are able to enter whatever field they want. But if the areas of work that appeal to women pay less in general, I can't see the wage gap as big of a deal as it's being made out to be. Are genders pressured into these fields? In my experience, not really. I've talked to people in the departments, and it's not really a matter of them being pushed into or out of it. It's legitimately what they wanted. However, I don't have a massive sample size and I absolutely want to hear opinions on this.

This is nowhere near a hatred of women. It's a humurous observation that isn't meant to be taken seriously, just like the jokes about men being beer-drinking sports-loving bros who have a ridiculous sex drive in place of emotional intelligence. Not saying there isn't plenty of misogynistic and mysandric bullshit on this site, but come on.

The Free Masons would be a perfect example of what you're talking about. Yes, they should be allowed to, because without selective membership there wouldn't be anything beyond interest groups. For a group/club? Absolutely. For a business? If advertised and they don't get government funding of any sort.

How am I supposed to drive the WRC2008? by Vertigo666in GT5

Same with the Lancia Stratos, Subaru Impreza, and a few others. That rally car has no reason to put down significantly faster times, but it does. The other Evo rally cars aren't faster than their competition either...

How am I supposed to drive the WRC2008? by Vertigo666in GT5

[–]booyahbd 3 points4 points ago

GT5 top tip: the Mitsubishi Lancer Super Rally Car will put down the fastest times around any rally circuit. I don't know why, but it has insane grip and pulls hard out of corners. In the rally online time trials, it held the top times into the hundreds.

Second tip: bolt on all the parts you can, then reduce the power to the required level. You'll be producing maximum power throughout the entire rev range that way. If you decide you need an even bigger advantage, use different Turbo sizes with this method. If you have a car tuned down to 350hp with the stage three Turbo, it might have 300 ft-lbs torque. If you bolt on the stage 2 kit and retune it to 350hp, the torque will be higher throughout the entire rev range. Mathematically it's impossible, but GT fails so hard at tuning simulation it shouldn't come as a surprise.

Final thing: TURN OFF DRIVING AIDS. If you're using a controller you'll obviously want ABS on, but take the time to learn manual and how to work the throttle. You'll be more consistant in your lap times because the car will behave more predictably (no, driving aids are not consistant in their effects).
