Picked this up in Salt Lake City at The Heavy Metal Shop. Very nifty place, most of the stuff there was more mainstream (Metallica, Slayer, etc.), but there were a few gems, and Kevin (I think it was) was very knowledgeable.

As for the actual record, I really dig the songs on it. There's a song from each of the four bands, and while it's not anything too special, they're done well. Unfortunately, none of the bands went on to release anything else from what I can find :(

I'd like to apologize, reading your other comments. Your first just seemed sort of passive-aggressive, without adding much, leading me to comment as I did (which I'll admit, was uncalled for).

To address your issue with proxies not being allowed, there's a few issues with that. First, there is the fact that Wizards has to make a profit. If they allowed proxies, sales would be limited to people who simply collected the game, as people who played would simply proxy everything they need. Without any profit to allow them to keep psying the MtG employees, or profit to entice them, why should Wizards continue to produce Magic? No new sets would be produced, and Magic would cease to exist, save for whats already around. It's not simply that they want to make a profit, it's the fact that they need to make money to keep making Magic.

Second, and relevant to the first point, there's the "I had to buy it, so why shouldn't you?" mentality. Alternatively, "You didn't have to buy it, so why should I?" This leads to bad things pretty quickly.

As for your own problems, why do you need the established top tier decks? IMHO, most of the fun of Magic comes from building your deck, with the rest coming from having fun with a deck you built. Fun fact: top tier decks aren't all-powerful. They're very well established deck archetypes that do well very consistently. That doesn't mean they can't be beat, that just means that you need to sharpen your deck building skills. Last FNM, I took first with a deck that cost $30. This was against your $200 Delver decks, or $400 Superfriends.

Those top tier decks are for people who can't figure out their own winning deck, at least the ones who net deck them. Find your own cool combos, synergies, and what have you, and build around them. Remember that Standard is a very quick format. If you need inspiration, build a Delver or Humans deck, but make it your own unique build. If you can't do any of those, build something silly and have fun playing it.

Most of all, have fun. Remember that that's what this is about.

I get what you mean. This was supposed to be something longer, and less religion-centric, originally, but time constraints forced me to end it where I did.

Could you tell me what throws you off, head-hopping for the priest? I know I talk about what he looks like and does, but the only place I says the priest's thoughts are where he thinks it's only a statue.

As for the subject matter, I sort of surprised myself. It was originally supposed to be something longer, more about a rebellion against this false god when some higher technology was found. I started off with only a few ideas for the first bit, and just started writing. It was much more critical of religion than I wanted the story to be, originally.

I should also mention that this was for a science fiction class, and I (stupidly) wrote it a couple days before it was due, which is why it ended where it did.

I remember reading a statement from Nintendo last year about how Pikmin 3 was nearly finished, but they'd decided to switch it to the WiiU. It's almost certainly a launch title.
