French prime minister promises to implement equal marriage and adoption rights for gays by mepperin worldnews

[–]bigon 6 points7 points ago

Well same sex families already exist in France (and mostly everywhere). With the current status, only one of the parent has legal custody, if the couple split or if the legal parent dies, the other one has no legal right. It's the current law that's bad for the children, "equal adoption" will just secure the rights for every families

Marriage is defined in the "code civil". The Constitutional Court just says that the 2 articles that define the marriage in France are conform to the constitution.

On January 28, 2011 the Constitutional Court of France has decided that the illegality of same-sex marriages is not contrary to the Constitution, clearly stating that this is a question for Parliament to decide.

Help with installing GNOME3 by Ryan_407in debian

[–]bigon 4 points5 points ago

First question, which version of debian did you install? If you have installed the "stable/squeeze" version, you will not have gnome3 available in the official repository. Gnome3 (and gnome-shell) is only available in testing/wheezy and unstable ATM

If you have installed testing or unstable, as said, you should have select the desktop task during installation.

If it's too late, you can do the same after the installation by installing "task-desktop" meta package.

Westvleteren 12 box by wilburtinoin beerporn

[–]bigon 0 points1 point ago

I've the same in my kitchen :)

They have sold this box only one day in one supermarket chain (Colruyt) and you had to buy some news magazine to get a voucher. It was pretty crazy, people were queuing at 8am before the opening.
