Would you be willing to talk through email or messages to a prospective veterinary student about some.. worries? For a little background, I am 19 and in my second year at a university as a biology student. I was set on becoming a veterinarian for years, until recently. I briefly worked as a receptionist at a local veterinary hospital and my experience was less than satisfying :( I definitely struggled a bit with the euthanasias during my time there-- especially because I had rescued a litter of puppies and found out one had liver shunts and ended up having to euthanize her at ~9 weeks old. Also, the owner and his son (both DVMs) were not the kind of people I had imagined would be working as veterinarians. Needless to say, they cared much more about money than animals. Anyways.. I have struggled to get "good" grades in chemistry classes, and a combination of that and my experience at the hospital made me unsure of my future in the veterinary field. It would be really awesome if you would have any extra time to email! I never got much of a chance to talk to the veterinarians at my old job since we were both there working! Oh.. and this is my boyfriends username.. probably not appropriate for a future veterinarian to be slaying bears.. haha
