What if your ads watched you while you were watching them? Microsoft is set to debut its new motion-sensitive advertising project NUads next month, which could revamp the TV ad industry. by hatfielddee1in technology

[–]aussie_bob 17 points18 points ago

MS should speed up the ads so they play through before the watcher has time to react. They could call them BlipVerts.

At least it'd be less creepy than this.

/r/linux, what's your favorite laptop? by espwhatin linux

[–]aussie_bob -1 points0 points ago

Just a generic Chinese laptop bought from DHGate or AliExpress. Pick the components and spec you want, then have it delivered at a fraction of the price you'd pay by the time a box-shifter puts their badge on it.

Scary perhaps, but the conditions they left behind were challenging too. Tom Keneally's The Commonwealth of Thieves is a good read on the subject. I'm looking forward to seeing how it ends...

But there were no reported US casualties overnight, just the 14 civilians a couple of days ago and the woman, two young boys and three girls on Friday.

Will you be putting them in the remembrance sub?

Look at the downvotes on this http://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/tjiv5/siri_whats_the_best_smartphone_ever/c4n6w3e.

It's very clear somebody doesn't want it suggested, let alone discussed.

Siri's Wolfram Alpha everywhere.

And really, it's sort of sad that Microsoft has to game everything, even search engines, instead of making desirable products.

They're not really so massive. The iPhone has a substantially smaller screen which doesn't take up as much of the front of the phone (larger borders)

Real dimensions are: iPhone 4 115.2 mm x 58.66 mm, Galaxy S II 125.3 mm 66.1 mm, Galaxy S III 136.6 mm x 70.6 mm.
