Shim's Custom Tailoring in Clintonville does great work. They're on the corner of High and Oakland Park.

Why would someone open carry in a state that allows concealed carry (no permit required)? by Forensicunitin guns

[–]arkanozzle 0 points1 point ago

Even in a state with legal open carry, all it takes is one complaint about a "man with a gun" for the police to stick you with disturbing the peace or similar charges. Those charges may put your CHL in jeopardy.

one exception: D-class permit premises. Bars and restaurants that serve booze. You can't open- or conceal-carry where they sell booze.

A recent bill was signed into law in OH that allows concealed carry in bars. The rest of what you said still stands, though.

I have tickets for Friday. I'll be in 221 during the game, and Rbar beforehand if you want to meet up.

New firearm owner. No firearms clause in lease agreement. In what way can I be legally screwed as a result? by arkanozzlein guns

That's true. I guess I'm just being overly cautious.

This is a point I am always encouraged by. I've challenged the management company on two separate occasions about amenities they are required to provide, so why should this issue be any different?

You should check your state's laws regarding concealed carry. You may learn something, as I did tonight.

That's pretty much going to be my strategy from here out...get licensed to carry before I sign my new lease, and deal with it if they decide to challenge me.

That is doubly hilarious, because my landlord has gigantic breasticles.

Thanks! My class is at the end of the month. I doubt my landlord will want a signed lease on February 1, so I'll figure it out.

That's something I hadn't heard before. So, say my residence was in Toledo, I couldn't apply for my CCW in my hometown of Portsmouth? Just for the sake of argument of course.

That's pretty much my logic at this point. I won't bring it up unless it is absolutely necessary.

On the other hand, it might be helpful to ask them to change their wording on new leases so new tenants don't have to sift through state law like I did tonight.

Upon reviewing the CCW verbiage in my state's revised code, it is unlawful for a landlord to deny a CCW holder the right to carry. I signed up for a CCW class today. I suppose I shouldn't sign the new lease until it's gone through?

Ohio. I'll have to check the revised code then.

Edit: ORC 2923.126 states "A landlord may not prohibit or restrict a tenant who is a licensee and who on or after the effective date of this amendment enters into a rental agreement with the landlord for the use of residential premises, and the tenant's guest while the tenant is present, from lawfully carrying or possessing a handgun on the premises."

If I need to use it in the home, that's probably a good indicator I need to move anyway, eh?

[WDIS] Pick 2 for WR: Marques Colston, Jordy Nelson, Victor Cruz, DeSean Jackson by arkanozzlein fantasyfootball

[–]arkanozzle[S] 0 points1 point ago

I'm apprehensive to start Jackson because he singlehandedly lost my matchup for me last week ಠ_ಠ ...like you said, boom or bust. Cruz I would think about if Nicks was definitively out, but it seems that he's going to be good to go.

Thanks for the info!
