yeah i was struck immediately how everyone in the novel seemed to be far too young. I mean, Ned Stark is in his mid thirties. I'M in my mid thirties! Now I know that the books are very period accurate and people tended to do things a lot younger in the period the books are based on, but once you put that on film, you need to make some adjustments or it will actually look less believeable.

Also, there would be an awful lot of underage sex going on in GoT if they didn't move everybody up ten years, and I don't think even HBO would want to touch that.
