Ugh, my friend said she wants to see this movie because "it looks funny" and I told her we could go see a movie together so I'm stuck.

What small piece of advice makes your daily routine/life just a little easier? No life lessons. . .no deep quotes. . .just something mundane. Here is mine: by deathofpatriotismin AskReddit

There are people that don't do this? Why be cold and make the floor wet when it is so easily avoidable?

I think he meant that he went to a different town and got drunk (probably with his friends) because he completely forgot about her birthday. Then she was mad/sad because he forgot her birthday or didn't do anything with her and got drunk with his friends instead.

My childfree 'coming out' story to my dad. by zaxonortesusin childfree

[–]and_whatnot 4 points5 points ago

I agree, what a weak argument. Well, your niece and nephew need playmates so you should totally do something you don't really want to do that will change your entire life even though they will hardly ever see each other anyways and can make friends in school. It's like what you want doesn't matter when there is relational void somewhere, like when a mother says you have to have kids because otherwise she won't get any grandchildren or pressuring a mom with one kid to have more because they "need" siblings. It's ok to not have siblings/cousins/grandchildren, in fact some siblings/cousins you will wish you didn't have once you have them.

Definitely, it's an amazing picture, but if I stare too long into the abyss on the left side I get uneasy like something's gonna get me or I can't breathe.

What small, seemingly socially acceptable, thing has a tendency to piss you off to no end? by allthewrongwaysin AskReddit

Well for me, it's annoying to have to lie on almost every single job application test question because they have determined there is a correct answer. Questions like: "You like being surrounded by people Agree/disagree" "You love being in the middle of a large crowd Agree/disagree" "You like small talk Agree/disagree" "People who talk a lot are annoying Agree/disagree". If I don't like being surrounded by people all the time or small talk I would like to be able to say so if you ask about it, it's not going to stop me from doing my job well. I feel like I'm being dishonest, but if I were honest I would never have a job. I also realize that they know most people lie on those questions but still, if you admit to having introverted characteristics then you're SOL most of the time.

This is really bad for your neck in the long run, take it from someone who has always slept like that and now has to try pretty hard not to end up that way during the night. :'(

Do you want kids? by lengthynewtin introvert

[–]and_whatnot 3 points4 points ago

PLEASE don't do that. The decision to have a child is yours and yours alone because in the end it is your life being affected. It is your time, money, and sacrifices that will go to raising children not your mom's or your family's. If you would rather not have children then your family can deal with it. There are lots of people who live very happy and fulfilling child free lives and you could definitely be one of them if one of the first reasons you can think of for having a child is to carry on your genes! Just something to think about.

A few years ago there was a party a couple towns over from me that got pretty crazy and the kids (18-21) at the party were fucking around with a gun they "knew" wasn't loaded. They put it up to their friend's head and pulled the trigger just trying to be funny but...yep you guessed it...it wasn't empty and the guy was shot through the head and died. You can imagine how the guy that pulled the trigger felt in that moment and afterwards and I'm pretty sure he went to jail too. Never fuck around with guns.

Yeah I think you're right, it's just being the center of attention of people I don't know I guess. If I'm out with friends and someone draws attention to me I'm ok with it because I know them.

Taking care of introverts by Owlsomein introvert

[–]and_whatnot 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, you have a point but to most people a "normal human being" is an extrovert and it is their standards that they will use to interact with you which will inevitably lead to misunderstandings.

What an awesome mom, I wish my parents were like that when I was a teenager. My dad would call me a hermit, throw me out of the house and lock the door until I knocked on every kids' door on our street to ask them to hang out. My mom would always open up my door so that I wasn't so closed off and constantly asked me how popular I was at school because I only had a few good friends and no boyfriends. Let's just say I definitely cherished my home alone time right after school.
