Never watched TBBT. What do you think is the best episode?

I'm curious: What part of Crash did you enjoy? Why did you think Crash was "great"?

When people hold a door open for me when I am 15+ feet from the door. I'd just rather save the awkwardness and open the door myself. I appreciate the gesture but after a few seconds of walking, it's awkward.

Losing my virginity tips and tricks? by hrearajain AskReddit

I was in the same situation as you, OP. Just let it happen. If you know you will not last long, fap a few hours before. Also, during sex, tug on your ballsack. It will make you last longer, (Learned this from an interview with Peter North)

Do a shit ton of foreplay. Even if you hate it, go down on her for a while. Go down on her, have sex and if you think you are going to blow it, pull out and go down on her some more.

Have you listened to anything else by them? They're an amazing band. I have one of their song titles tattooed on me.

Right on! Without a clear idea of what you want to do, you need to understand that the most important thing about the music industry is that CONNECTIONS ARE EVERYTHING. I was 19 and making $1500 USD a week. I had no degree. All I had: A few friends in the industry that told a management firm that I was a good tour manager and it would be a smart idea to hire me. Continue with your schooling but understand that just having a degree isn't going to get your too far. You need to network! Get invited to a party where some people in the industry might attend? Even if you fucking despise parties, please attend. If you're 21, start going to bars where people in the industry might hang out. If you're not in a place like NYC, LA, Chicago, or Nashville, try to find places that local venue promoters will be hanging out. Get in with them and try to get in on guest lists to shows then try to become friends with smaller touring bands. Let them sleep on your couch. That's how I ended up touring. Understand that people in the industry need to have MASSIVE trust in who they are working with. My first paying tour management job was with an artist that I had never met before. Hell, I didn't even actually meet his management until about a week into the tour. They basically just trusted me into handling thousands of dollars a night.

TLDR; Networking with industry people is the key to getting your foot in the door.

What's your present career path, if you don't mind me asking? If it's the music industry, I can offer a lot of pointers.

Accidently my entire music collection. Any suggestions for new music? by revbobdobbsin AskReddit

Bonobo - Touring the US in August

The National - Not touring

Nocow - Couldn't find much about them :(

Rodrigo Y Gabriella - Touring all over the world

The Bamboos - Touring Australia next month

Theivery Corporation - Random US dates over the next few months

Vesna - Couldn't find anything on them :(

Nine-Icicles - Couldn't find anything on them :( Magnolia Electric Company - No tour dates scheduled King Fantastic - no dates scheudled Josh Ritter - Touring all over

Josh Ritter was the same label as a band I worked for. Met him twice and he's a great guy.

EDIT: Josh Ritter will be playing in Australia. If it's in your budget, I think flying over there would be the best idea!

If you are serious about it, Here is a flight from Auckland to Sydney for $287 and Sydney to Auckland for $340. You'd have around $2,200 left over.

Give me a few minutes and I'll check out who is on tour or who is going on tour soon! I haven't listened to many of them but The National and Rodrigo y Gabriela are amazing! But let me look through all of those artist's touring schedules and help you out :)

Reddit, What are some of your favorite boardgames? by oOfollyOoin AskReddit

[–]americanslang59 1 point2 points ago

Not a "board" game technically but catch phrase is my favorite. Catch Phrase is a great drinking game but it gets a bit loud. Also, you can just get a piece of paper, write your own "catch phrases" and have only one person do it. Everybody loves being able to do their own and it's interesting to see how people describe something that you would have thought of differently.

Things happen! I have a beautiful girlfriend of almost two years now. I haven't worked in the music industry in a long time so things have definitely gotten better.

But my condolences to you and your situation. I hope something happens and things get better. In the mean time, keep positive! Also, I think that if you e-mail a band's tour manager, you are going to have a much easier time getting into a show for free/meeting the band; They arrange the guest list and set up things like meet and greets.

If you don't mind me asking, what are some of your favorite bands? Not to sound cocky but I know loads of people in the industry and I think that I could easily find an e-mail address for you.

Pretty much I got a girlfriend and wanted to kind of start 'real life' which ended up being a fucking horrible decision because we broke up a year later.

Find one of your favorite bands and fly to a city they are playing in. You could probably even e-mail their manager or tour manager explaining the situation and get on their guestlist as well as meeting them.

What opinions do you have that are different than the Hivemind? by jCcrackheadin AskReddit

[–]americanslang59 0 points1 point ago

I don't find Louis CK funny at all.

Also, these threads are a bit difficult to do because if everybody likes one comment, then that means it is the hivemind. If you sort the comments by "controversial", you'll get a better view.

Hey Reddit! What was your proudest moment? by Fadikoin AskReddit

[–]americanslang59 4 points5 points ago

I was a tour manager for bands for 3 years. I worked with no pay for about 7 months. My first pay check in the music industry was probably my proudest moment.

I remember sitting on my laptop in a hotel room and checking my bank account. It was a direct deposit. Also, keep in mind, I had zero money for 7 months; I did get $20 a week from the band for food though. It was one of the few times that I thought to myself, "I'm really proud."
