Sorry, I've gotten bored with you. All you're getting any time you comment is a copy/pasted response that implies you took my dick up your ass. Cheers.

Just because you couldn't keep it up is no reason to be angry. It happens to everyone from time to time.

Robert Fisk, Neil D Tyson, Jon Stewart, Steven Hawking, Bill Bryson- the list goes on. It's not exactly like we're short of brilliant thought provoking alternative historians, scientists, comedians, and other writers.

Look, you were a good lay on that hot sweaty night in Bangkok, but I just don't think you're relationship material. Stalking me on reddit isn't going to change my mind.

Generally mob around the things we want until we either get to the front or the things run out.

Living in a country that doesn't queue, this man is 100% correct about the efficiency thing. On the other hand, the food is better, the women are pretty, people seem genuinely nice to strangers, and I can walk out my front door and pick a banana in the depths of winter.

The handful of Tibetans I've met would strongly disagree. The fact they had a medieval level society (look how isolated it is, they pretty much have China and a solid wall of mountain for borders, and China didn't really modernize till well into the 20th century) hardly makes Chinese rule warm and fuzzy

It's not exactly mild discontent that makes people riot in the streets or self immolate.

Don't get me wrong, I don't buy into the whole "china will supplant the US as the next world power in the next 5 years" and all the other evil empire scaremongering that occasionally shows up in western journalism. I think it's great China's on the way up, but I do think the ethnic minorities issue is near the top of the list of problems china needs to solve as their rise continues.

More the idea of clean than actual food safety grade sterile.

showering four times a day, constantly wiping their faces with baby wipes, constantly going to have their hair washed at salons, etc.

On a house level, they mop the floors on a daily basis, spend hours scrubbing the walls to make sure they're glowing white, and spray industrial strength pesticide the second they see an insect.

That said, having lived here a month I'm fast developing the immune system of a junkyard dog.

My favorite is the one where they argue that Tibetans are actually better off under Chinese rule, and anything bad that happens to them is simply a product of western propaganda.

The bum guns take some serious getting used to. Every once in a while you find one where the water pressure is on a bit too high and things get extremely uncomfortable.

Also, there's almost never soap to wash your hands with. For a culture that's otherwise obsessed with cleanliness that's kinda gross.

way too much. I wish there was a way to disable them entirely so I don't have the temptation.

I'll brave the downvotes and agree. British shows can be amazing, but when it comes to english language programming, American tv consistently has more polish, better writing, and a greater variety of actors.

I think Americans have trouble realizing that the stuff that shows up on BBC America is basically the cream of the crop, and that there's a far greater amount of absolute shit that we never get to see.

Muslim cleric bans women from touching bananas because they resemble male genitalia and could "give them ideas" by SolInvictusin worldnews

I never said I pull my hand back, just that I find it supremely uncomfortable. It's not my fault I've been raised in a culture where that sort of physical contact is reserved for people who know each other fairly well.

I can confirm that at least in Muslim regions of Asia, men have no respect for your idea of personal space at all. Nothing is more awkward than a grown ass man you've just asked for directions attempting to hold your hand and lead you to your destination.

As a convert to android- I miss my iphone.

That's how I feel about most apple products- I thought the old ipods were just overhyped generic mp3 players, then I got one for christmas and it was the coolest thing ever.

Then I thought the iphone/ipod touch was a regular cell phone that someone had stuck a touchpad onto. I then got an ipod touch for free when my friend signed up for an iphone.

When the ipad came out I thought it was absurd that anyone would pay for a giant iphone, and then I got one as a year end bonus from my job and think it's amazing.

At this point I've decided to no longer be skeptical of any outlandish claims made by apple about how amazing their stuff is.

If you're in better shape you can skip the first few weeks of intervals, but it's literally for people who have never done any sustained running before. If you can run a mile, it's not really for you.

I did it to start running again after a knee injury because the point is slowly get your body used to running regularly. Too much too soon and you can really hurt yourself.

For me it was the Ipad. I thought that it was stupid to have what was essentially a giant smartphone. Then I got one for free and realized that it's actually really awesome.
