While I'd agree that it's probably not the best for your skin, I'd hardly call it bad. I've been using MAC products for over 3 years and I can't say that my skin has been negatively effected by it.

It's awesome that you had the foresight to plan for this! I can't tell you how many MUA's I've seen (usually in smaller productions) that aren't aware of the NEED to disinfect in between EVERY person.

Brushes: Using an anti-bacterial wet wip like Wet Ones is a great way to spot clean and disinfect your brushes after every person. You just swipe the head of the brush until the color is gone and give it a couple good brushes on the wipe to disinfect.

Creams: I always recommend scooping out a bit of product onto a palette instead of working right out of the pot/pan. This way, you can just clean the palette with a Wet One in between people. Always put a small amount on the palette first and leave clean scoopers to keep scooping out product.

Powder: This goes for face powder, setting powder, blush, bronzer, powder eyeshadows, etc. Get a bottle of 90% rubbing alcohol and pour some in a spray bottle. Just spray the powder with the rubbing alcohol and let it dry for about 20-30 seconds. Disinfects, dries quickly, and doesn't ruin your product!

Lipstick: Make sure you either use a lip brush, scrape some product off, or clean each lipstick with rubbing alcohol between each person.

Eyelash curlers: Wipe it down with 90% rubbing alcohol, and if you can, disposable pads!

Both Wet Ones and 90% rubbing alcohol will probably cost you $10 together! Good luck!

That really depends on your skin tone. I just did a smokey eye look for my blog using two colors: Too Faced - Cocoa Puff & Sugarpill - Bulletproof.

I'm definitely using this reasoning the next time I get in trouble with the boyfriend. LOL. He hates it when I leave my makeup around. Hahahaha.

Definitely check out MUFE's Navy eyeshadow. It's my favorite navy of all time.

How long do you use a sponge before throwing it away? by [deleted]in MakeupAddiction

[–]aephilea 0 points1 point ago

Depends which kinda sponge. If they're the cheapo ones, I'll use it once and then toss. I'll use the more expensive ones for a week and then toss. Of course, I do wash after every use. :)

LOL. I always get those comments too. My eyelids are slightly darker than the rest of my face, so sometimes it looks like I'm wearing brown eyeshadow. I just take it as a compliment.
