Car manufacturers don't make their own tires and components -- they take existing ones and put them together with a custom body, and a few other unique elements to make a new model (and a ton of other changes, of course, but we're going for brevity here). Not reusing code, constantly reinventing the wheel -- that's the mark of an inexperienced developer. You don't have to write your entire code base by hand, and you should never expect any system to be 100% suited for all use-cases out of the box -- that's how shit like Joomla comes to be.

Beyond MadtownLems' suggestion, you could use featured images for posts/pages and drop the featured image into the TV if one is assigned for a page, with a fallback/default for when there isn't one assigned.

Everyone's always got an odd expression or two they use or have made up, and it's high time we shared. I love creating unique/new phrases and will be tossing them out as they come, but I'd love to hear yours!

Warning: some of these will almost certainly be NSFW or slightly offensive -- that's part of the fun -- so don't be surprised if the content in here is a bit edgy. While euphemisms are technically supposed to be creative uses of language to side-step offensive language, it's okay if the euphemisms are a bit off-color or offensive themselves.

Blatant vulgarity devoid of creativity will be left to a reader vote, but I and any future moderators reserve the right to drop lame content. Wanna moderate? Send me a note!

So far I'm thinking that the best format will be text posts with the euphemism in the title and the description or explanation in the post text. Will work on adding some proper rules soon.

Mostly design critiques: * The hover states on your primary navigation are far too dark. They feel more like what you'd expect to see on `:active` (press) * Home page splash feels far too large for what it contains * The "Hi we're..." text in the pixel font beneath the logo/primary nav doesn't feel like it fits the rest of the design aesthetic * Search box feels out of place * Social media campaigns and who we are sections feels like they break the aesthetic and haven't been given enough style love * Services block in the footer could be comma-separated to reduce visual noise and make it easier to read * "Subscribe Me" in the blog could have the entire button click-able, instead of just the text * "Request a quote" page has far too much padding at the top of the content and the form looks like it could use some extra spacing and some button style love * In-page H1's need a bit more breathing room; multi-line heading text is touching. * "So, you want to know more?" links could be styled a bit more to look like proper buttons Like the darkness. :D

You'll likely be using Apache for the web server, so no worries about serving Flash content. Unless you need a streaming media server, then you might need to get fancy. If you're interested in setting up a mail server...I might avoid that until you're more comfortable with the GNU/Linux basics.
