Uhhmm, Reddit, i need some help. My 15 y/o nephews parents (46-47) were in a car crash. They were driving on the rocky mountains. They're no more. I'm now his legal guardian. How do i tell him? Also, tips for how to raise a 15 y/o? please read inside before making any comments. Thanks. by the_wizard_guyin AskReddit

This guy is full of shit.

Look at his reddit posts from the last few days. If this was what was going on in his life, do you think he'd be worried about the r/subredditawards and hiding in a closet while his brother is sexing up in his room?

Fuck the_wizard_guy. His maturity level seemed questionable, which made me research his potential validity. There's no way this could be real.

I genuinely hope it's bullshit, because if this guy is supposed to be responsible for a 15-year-old kid, he's grossly unprepared for it. He doesn't seem to have an iota of concern for the kid's life, but how he himself is going to deal with the short-term emotional responses from the kid.

So much of this doesn't make sense.

He is a human. He is going to be going through one of the worst imaginable experiences in life. What's done is done regarding his not having been told. In the grand scheme of things, the timing is the least of his worries.

For what it's worth, though, any English teacher on Earth would give him an extension for something like this. That reason makes me feel as though you are not making responsible decisions in the interest of his welfare. You are going to have to make him an absolute priority. If you can't, you should find someone who can.

The only solution is to take off your pants and have your way with the family pets.

It depends on which definition you're going with for medieval, but it's a pretty reasonable thing to call Beowulf a medieval work since that's the time period of the oldest known manuscript.

The story takes place at what is effectively the very beginning of the middle ages.

I also vote for solder wick. Definitely not a smart place to be soldering, though.

Whenever I read text like that, I imagine that the writer is from the time period when Beowulf was written and that their style is simply Old English.

I try to read it as phonetically as possible, but perhaps with the voice of a medieval leper.

I don't think that's the best use for ketchup, but whatever floats your boat.

Perhaps we can pledge to vote in favor of education spending a little more often, so that the generations after ours don't keep experiencing the same downward slide that we're facing now.

The beauty of cutting education spending is that eventually, the mass voting population no longer knows enough to realize that education spending is vital for the state to thrive.

I feel like "LOL" is hitting a new use among the 18-22-year old crowd. I've noticed this happen a few times in texting people that I'm in school with. They don't seem to mean it as an a sarcastic communication, and they also don't seem to actually be laughing out loud.

I'm kind of fascinated by the way younger people are growing up by doing so much communication through text instead of through speech. I remember spending hours on the phone with girls when I was younger, but the equivalent is text communication, which doesn't translate speech inflection. The use of LOL now seems to be a way of saying no while also maintaining a respectful intention.

Unfortunately, for we oldsters, it just seems like he's looking down on Auburn or being a dick. I genuinely don't believe that is the case here.
