Why is this being downvoted? I feel like this is a legitimate discussion question.

In carrying a gun, I see it as "insurance" against being caught in an otherwise unavoidable violent situation. This is the same reason people carry emergency medical cards with them. You never expect yourself to need to use it, but you never know when you might need to.

If you make the choice to responsibly conceal carry a firearm, you might as well always carry it. Otherwise it's like gambling on when you may need it. Like only sometimes carrying around your medical card.

And, yes, there are many people out there who carry their gun with them (concealed) everywhere they go. Referring to your example, actually, I personally know someone who works in IT who carries his gun with him everyday, but you would probably never guess it just by looking at him. I'm willing to bet you've interacted with people before who are carrying and you had no idea.
