The military was credited with quashing quite a bit of racism according to history, and oddly travel, channel documentary. Can't be racist once you have seen the other race prove themselves to be... Just like you.

When I was really sucking, and feeling sorry for myself enough to want to quit, it always helped to know that I wasn't the only one, and everybody around me was hurting just as bad.

There were plenty of other times where remembering that I was a cog in a much larger machine that helped as well. You can get through anything with the right mindset.

I am a Professional Boxer who was bullied in school. AMA. by GuadalupeSalcidoin IAmA

Congrats on all of your success.

You will likely find that most redditors were bullied at some point in their lives. I do not see a common trend of people who were bullied using that as motivation to push themselves to the top.

It's a hard job, but someone has to do it. All that blood sweat and tears. Hours working towards a single purpose. Sacrificing your life, losing friends and loved ones. But a good figure is so hard to maintain these days, right girls?

I tell a few silly stories to civilians who ask, but for the most part I won't talk about it unless the person I'm talking to has been there.

According to feminists - more men entering female dominated professions is new sexism against women by rugbysoccer34in MensRights

[–]UnoriginalMike 10 points11 points ago

So, because women are being welcomed in male dominated fields, and men need a place to go so they can afford child support, alimony, and subsistence it is sexist. It all makes so much sense now!!!

Damned I you do, damned if you don't.

The message here is that it is not ok to be a man, as any action is wrong. How dare you show emotion you pussy ass faggot. How dare you not be upset you cold hearted asshole pig. You have no option save to not have anything happen to you, essentially non existence.

Especially now with such blurred gender roles, a man doesn't have any single good role model to go off of. This would be ok, provided that whatever a man chose to be was accepted. These days it seems the plan is to hate and destroy a man no matter what he is for not being something else. Or maybe it's just me.

Side note: I have seen some of the most hard core and manly men bawl their eyes out. I have seen some of the softest men I have ever known grit their teeth and suffer silently through worse than I can imagine. It's all part of being human.

What "amazing fact" or colloquialism do you know is actually wrong, and you're sick of correcting people about it? by TestZeroin AskReddit

That's a great way to be remembered as the kid who got expelled for picking a fight with (bully's name here) and getting his ass kicked. I knew several bullyish kids, some were quite tough. Gangs, a good glove champ, etc. Learn that there are many strategies to deal with bullies, use them as needed.

Would you rather puke or get assaulted? This is supposed to be very effective as it forces the attacker to reevaluate their reasoning for the attack. That person is far less attractive covered in their dinner. Furthermore, if you think someone might assault you, do disgusting things. Pick your nose, eat the booger. Scratch your ass and sniff your fingers, gag, sniff again, repeat. Do something, it's better to be embarrassed a million times than assaulted once.

"I play a ton of video games; therefore, I know how to operate a real gun." What's a stupid/unfounded argument you're tired of hearing, Reddit? by thec0rinthianin AskReddit

[–]UnoriginalMike 3 points4 points ago

That could be. I meet a lot of people. I meet scores of new people daily through work, know many through church, my daughters school, that I met while in the military, while working at Disneyland.

I can think of one person who did not value education. He was a complete moron. The reason he had for disliking education was that he felt that people would hide behind it and snub him because he hadn't gone to college. Reality was everyone snubbed him because he was an obnoxious ass of a person. Come to think of it, his ex-wife had a degree and would never let him hear the end of it. That might have been part of it.

When in Georgia and north Carolina they always talked about astronauts with awe. Family in Mississippi could care less about what your education is, unless you bring it up, then they will listen with rapt attention as you tell them about your area of study. Hungry for knowledge, but unable to obtain it for themselves.

The people I see who shunned education are still working as baggers at the local supermarket, stoners in highscool, still stoners. The gang bangers (if still around) who can make 100 times what I make a year in a few days, and who wouldn't if that was a possible outcome. And, well, that's it.

Maybe I'm not meeting them, or maybe they don't exist past a certain age. I'm 31 btw.
