Does anyone have a favorite TYPE of Queen song? by gabbygoooooin queen

[–]ThetrueGizmo 0 points1 point ago

I love Freddie's piano-songs. He has a lovely touch in the piano! Especially how he plays a rather simple tune to accompany his singing but it just sounds amazing. And also I like Brians heavier songs, like Keep yourself alive and Tie your mother down or Sweet Lady. Just wonderful stuff!

Hahah, I thought of posting that, too. But I didn't think that anyone else would get it! Awesome!

that's amazing. It doesn't even seem to be challenging for Roger to hit that notes...!

It depends on everyones own opinion, but I like the early Queen albums better. My favourite ones are (at the time) Queen II, A day at the races and The Game. But it's really hard to just choose three... I really like nearly everything they did. There may be some tracks that I don't love... but I actually like everything they did. So pretty hard to choose something!

On Queen II I like most, how it is supposed to be listened in one piece. (or side by side) Some songs blend into each other, which makes a very nice effect. My favourite of it is "Nevermore", a quite simple but really wonderful song. A day at the races is somehow like the second part to A night at the opera. It of course has "Somebody to love" on it, which is one of my all time favourites. "You take my breath away" and "The millionaires Waltz" are also wonderful! "Long away" is a Brian May song with him singing the lead vocal - I love that one. The Game is (I think) the best selling Album in the US. It has "Crazy little thing called love" and "Anotherone bites the dust" on it. From the less known tracks I would recommend "Sail away sweet sister", one of my favourites. It is also the track that Axl Rose once did in a quite strange version.

If you are more into heavy stuff, I would go for "News of the world", with "Sheer heart attack" on it (not to be confused with the Sheer heart attack album). It also has "It's late" and "All dead all dead", they are not actually heavy tracks but nevertheless, they're wonderful. Their first Album "Queen" is also a Rock-album, from that album I'd recommend "Keep yourself alive" and "Liar".

Hope I could help a little... sorry I couldn't limit to less tracks...

If I had a time machine, I'd take my mom to Wembley. Anyone know a good present-time substitute? by FoxxedOutin queen

naaah, no Queen-Fan is ever too old for standing ;) I bet it will be great fun... from anywhere! I'll be in Block 1... I'll be the one who gets crazy up there ;)

Unfortunately the dates given above are the only ones (right now at least). I read that Roger Taylor said in an interview that they'll see what it will all turn out to be, but they mustn't forget that they're not 25 anymore. (or something like that). That's the reason I'm coming all the way from Austria to see them :)

I find it funny how all the redditors seem to be going on the 12th! I'll be there, too! It's my first time to see a Queen concert and I am so excited - come to think how excited your mother would be!

Marknow, will you be seated? I just bought the "best available"-ticket and didn't really know, what I am doing... have you ever been to Hammersmith? I just fear, that I won't be able to jump around up there and sing "Love of my life" from the top of my lungs... because that's what I am planning to do... See you on July 12th :)

Well, there will be a couple of shows with Brian May, Roger Taylor and Adam Lambert. The two in London (11th and 12th of July) are already sold out, there is another one in Moscow and one in Breslau (sorry, don't know the name of the city in English...) in Poland, all of them also in July. If you can afford it, you could try taking her to one of those :)

I guess, she already has all the DVDs? If not, I can really recommend the 25th anniversary DVD for Wembley with both nights - it's really awesome!

Hope I could help a little :)

Couldn't resist either! I am so excited! I don't even really know... I am seated I guess... I just clicked "Best available". I actually wanted to stand, but I didn't know much about it, so I reckoned it would be best if I just took "best available". I am coming all way from Austria to see it :) Makes me soooo happy! So I guess, we'll see each other there!!

Just bought a ticket... I am SO EXCITED!! Are you going to be there, too? I'll be there on the 12th of July. I can hardly afford it and I will take a second job for a month... but that's worth it!

Thanks, I heard of it. It is so unfortunate that they're not going on tour. I fear, I can't afford going to London to see them. I really have to think about it... But thanks anyway!

You're right, there's no doubt. As long as they're just honking and stuff, I'm fine with it - but I don't want them to encourage to do more. But still, I could give them a less disgusted look. You're right!

He sure likes the Beatles. The first thing I remember him ever teaching me, is in which order to say the Beatles' names. BTW its John Paul George Ringo.

Have fun!! It's so wonderful, doing their songs! I usually just play the piano and sing to it... but recently I got my singing teacher to do "The show must go on" with me... that was amazing!! Can only imagine how much fun it will be to do a whole concert!

Same problem here. Recently my brother asked me if "We will rock you" is originally by "Five". Also made a rage comic about that to get the anger out.
