Another major brewery moving East. Breckenridge Brewery will take new brewery, jobs to East Coast. This time due to crappy legislation. by mountain_mofoin beer

[–]TheMovement 0 points1 point ago

Since this article came out Breckenridge has backed off from these statements, saying that they haven't decided about where to build the new brewery yet with CO still being considered if they can navigate the legal issues.

A question for those well versed in Bears history. Is this the first time the Bears have had all three key positions on the offensive side of the ball held by Pro-Bowlers? by ElConQuistaDavein CHIBears

I assume that you meant Pro Bowl, otherwise a certain Sex Dragon might want to have a word with you

Lactobacillus and pediococcus are bacteria, not yeast.

Bourbon enthusiasts.... what's your favorite? by ScroogeMcThrowawayin whiskey

[–]TheMovement 0 points1 point ago

Right now it's Peach St Bourbon from a Peach St distillery, very small batch stuff made in Palisade, CO. All time it's probably 12 yr Van Winkle "Lot B" - not an everyday drink on my budget though.

Couldn't agree more. If you haven't done so already, try Templeton's Rye in a Manhattan. Phenomenal.

What needs to be done with the Oline? by dmfaber1in CHIBears

[–]TheMovement 3 points4 points ago

You hit on some excellent points. Agreed, #1 priority Omiyale GTFO! To paraphrase what you said above, it seems that we have a solid nucleus developing, so now depth should be the primary concern. A smart (read fiscally responsible) veteran free agent OT acquisition would go a long way - assuming the Omiyale departure happens. After that, using one or two late round draft picks to start farming our line of the future would be a great step in the right direction.

White whiskey, what's your take? by RebeccaSaysin whiskey

[–]TheMovement 1 point2 points ago

I've had a White Manhattan made with Death's Door White Whiskey & Dolin Blanc - it was interesting for a gimmick cocktail & drinkable. However, I missed the character from extended wood aging and I wouldn't consider it for sipping - maybe shooting or mixing.

"It Appears That I Was Very, Very Wrong About Canned Beer" by TheMacManin beer

[–]TheMovement 0 points1 point ago

Do you have a source for this information? I am not trying to insinuate that it isn't true - it is however counter intuitive for me to think that any substance for human consumption is packaged in a container that will dissolve in said substance.

Chocolate beer for Valentine's Day: Kansas City falls in love by ttruth1in beer

[–]TheMovement 1 point2 points ago

Had this yesterday, on draft. This years batch is every bit as good as last years. It's not dark or roasty it just tastes like ... chocolate. I think the hype is a little overboard, that said it was one of the moat interesting beers that I tasted in 2011 and so far THE most interesting beer that I've tasted in 2012.

Keg issue! by dangruizin beer

[–]TheMovement 1 point2 points ago

As long as neither of the hoses connected to the coupler are compressed or kinked you should not have a problem dispensing the beer. Simply resting at an angle will not do any harm to the beer either. The only issue that I could foresee is getting a gas bubble in the line before the last bit of beer in the bottom of the keg can be dispensed, depending on the angle. Beer is actually dispensed from the bottom of a keg (see diagram). Depending on the severity of the angle there will likely be some delicious that won't reach the spear to be dispensed. Easy problem to solve though - when you hit the gas bubble take the keg out, bleed out the gas and foam from the line and drink the beer that is left.

On Gabe Carimi... by Danno_Davisin CHIBears

[–]TheMovement 1 point2 points ago

I disagree. We have other high priority needs (d-line, wide receiver, possibly tight end), one of which should be addressed in the first round. With regards to the O-line, after the exodus and subsequent banishment of Frank Omiyale the #1 priority is depth, which can be addressed in later rounds and free agency.

Game Day Brews: 5 Sessionable Craft Brews To Bring by TheMacManin beer

[–]TheMovement 2 points3 points ago

Some great options listed in the article. A couple more suggestions: Upslope Craft Lager ABV 4.8% (plus it's in a can!), Firestone Walker Pale 31 ABV 4.8%.

On a tangentially related note, I basically consider the Pale 31 a session beer for hop heads - the actual IBU is low, but it's delicate enough that the hops are still the star. ABV is low enough to drink all day, then cap it off with a big boozy IPA/DIPA (or some whiskey).

Nitrogen infused others? by Namartiain beer

[–]TheMovement 7 points8 points ago

The only nitrogenated bottled beer that I am aware of is Left Hand's Milk Stout - not what you are looking for, it sounds like.

Several English brewers make bitters/ESBs in nitro cans. Boddington's does one, I personally prefer Old Speckled Hen though.
