i agree. i laughed at first, too.

[–]T_L_D_R 30 points31 points ago

the wink + this reaction convinces me that somebody on the bench or in the locker room was like "yo dex, you know what to do."

the wade/lebron reaction is like when you're playing high school football and the scrubs are in. you're relaxing on the bench in a blowout, and a linebacker coach tells a scrub lb to go level somebody. then, on a punt, that lb choke slams the punter well after the ball is kicked and everyone is laughing and reacting like, "whoa, we didn't mean go and do THAT!"

nice. and based on the network coverage, it looks like eastern conference is the first night, whenever it starts.

Might as well get rid of Breen and let the Brothers Van Gundy run the show.

not sure. seems like they don't want wcf happening during eastern semis. who knows.

I saw somewhere that game 1 is supposed to be Sunday, but it also referred to it as May 28th, so... don't know how reliable that is.

Just how special was LeBron's performance? by posthocin nba

i like that. such a simple term, yet i haven't seen/heard anyone use it since he's been in miami. he should go full-on cleveland mode the rest of his career.

I don't have anything against the guy, I just made this because I thought it would be funny. by kdarin nba

Speaking from experience and also watching others: after not touching the ball for a while and being aware of how little confidence everyone has in you, it affects your play and decision making. Even if you're really good at a particular thing and you know it, somehow it affects you and makes you think twice.

i'm with ya. if the case is to be made purely on front office ability, his options would have been okc, indiana, houston, san antonio, memphis.

edit: i say memphis with hindsight-is-20/20 goggles on. the pau gasol trade was awful.

don't forget korver: mutombo 2.0. if he listened to me, i would have preferred him to stay in cleveland or go to nj/nyc.

Meg Whitman – most recent GOP candidate for CA Governor – has solution to HP problems: Cut ~10% of workforce, 30K jobs. Do Republicans have any other solution to problem besides screwing working people thru cuts? by trai_depin politics

[–]T_L_D_R 0 points1 point ago

i understand laying people off when the economy is bad and there just isn't the revenue to employ as many people as before. but these redundancy programs... it's great to be efficient, but it doesn't mean you have to necessarily cut workforce, right? can't the redundant workers now do something else? something productive?

i totally would have enjoyed him going to nyc. or chicago. literally ANYWHERE else.

in terms of the 'long view' of lebron's decision, it just sucks that he went to miami. they don't deserve him, and neither does the team. we all know miami sports fans suck as a whole. and wade seems like a good guy off the court, but on the court he's a turd. lebron isn't.

i know you're joking, but i'll be the no-fun-at-parties guy and note that the wolves and spurs would never play each other with that combo of uniforms.
