Something nice about the RVA that I think about, nobody honks. I really like this about our city. People are pretty (just heard a honk outside) cool and generally don't honk their horns like impatient assholes.

If I'm not up on the curb, it's because I'm trying to see around an SUV or telephone pole or something, and I think maybe just maybe there isn't a car coming. As for leaping out in front of moving cars, I can't answer that.

A city of any size will have numerous shelters that will help with the homeless' actual immediate needs. I don't owe these people beer/liquor/drugs money. I don't want to be responsible if/when they hurt themselves or others because I helped them get drunk or high.

I know in my small city there is at least one organization that tries to solve their problems permanently - find an apartment, help them get it set up, finding/keeping jobs and physical and mental health resources.

Don't waste your money handing it over to panhandlers.

The story of how my ex picked out Maynard (before we met) is that he was at the shelter, looking in all the cages, when the cat who became known as Maynard reached through the cage bars with both front paws and grabbed his face.

Mine is Jimbo. His predecessor was Maynard. We also briefly had a Linus, but we were just taking him off the streets and gave him to a neighbor once he was neutered. All real sweethearts.

I think a lot of people don't realize you can leave questions blank. This is what my fella and I have done. If anyone cares, they can see all these pictures we're in together, and events we attended together, and get the general idea that there's some sort of dating situation going on.

That said, if it means that much to her, why not just do it? I don't see the big deal.
