LPT Request: How to keep your voice going for hours of reading to small children by SuperFlaccidin LifeProTips

Interesting. Yeah-- once the tickling starts I don't last much longer. I should take preventative measures like this.

Has Paul's popularity on Reddit helped him in any meaningful way? by SuperFlaccidin ronpaul

I bet we could rally r/politics to push him forward in the caucuses-- couldn't that potentially help him a lot?

OP's girlfriend here. He has long, Fabio-style thick curly dark brown hair. It's past shoulder length and lustrous.

Is Locks for Love a legitimate charity? I heard a rumor that they weren't donating wigs to cancer patients but rather selling them.

Alert! I know the OP; he has quite the thick, lustrous set of locks. I suggested donation, but I don't think that makes sense for him right now; selling one's hair seems like such an old-fashioned way to make money, but it seems to make sense for him. The dude's got sweet HUR and he is supah-po-po.

/r/nyc, I need mind numbingly delicious hot chocolate... any suggestions? by moonwafflein nyc

[–]SuperFlaccid 0 points1 point ago

I am one of those freaky dessert obsessed people, and I've drank many a cup of hot chocolate. Nothing can compare to the hot chocolate at any waffles+ dinged truck. It tastes like sublime butter chocolare deluxe and comes with a little Belgian cookie free! Give it to anyone and they will melt.

My gf works on a research camp in Ethiopia. Just a few of her better pictures. by [deleted]in pics

With whom does she research? Also, I've been thinking about going abroad to do something similar, but I'm afraid to leave my boyfriend behind. Has it been hard?

Lego Is For Girls: "Focusing on boys saved the toymaker in 2005. Now the company is launching Lego Friends for 'the other 50 percent of the world’s children.' Will girls buy in?" by trot-trotin TrueReddit

Even as recently as 1918 it was considered inappropriate for boys to wear blue.

This is a very interesting article about the matter- apparently Teddy Roosevelt wore a dress until age 6.

There is still hope!!

My favorite Biology professor at University was a carpenter for his entire life. He never went to college or had any sort of special training.

One day, he was nailing some scaffolding at the American Museum of Natural History. He gazed at the dinosaur that was in the exhibit and had a realization-- "I've always loved dinosaurs. Why don't I work with them?"

He started his undergrad at the age of approx. 55, and got his PhD thereafter in paleontology. He is now one of America's leading experts in Wooly Mammoths, whose research has been quoted for National Geographic and other science magazines.

TL;DR: My favorite professor was a carpenter until the age of 55; was inspired at the Museum of Natural History whilst building scaffolding; Decided to go back to school and is now an extremely successful paleontologist.

Best Backpacks out there? by SuperFlaccidin BuyItForLife

Good question Lord Jeebus-- I'm looking for a good backpack for carrying a laptop and some heavy science textbooks. I have one that I got at a tag sale for free, (which Jane Goodall signed!!) but it has zero support, leaving my back aching after a long day.
