Private Presley. [1129x1352] by jaxspiderin HumanPorn

[–]SteelPenguin71 8 points9 points ago

My grandfather actually stayed in the same barracks as Elvis Presley. Most of the family never knew until he mentioned it at Christmas a few years back. He had a very "no big deal" attitude about it. I thought it was pretty awesome.

I read this as "Mr. Fusion" and then saw the date 2015 and I had a "Back to the Future" moment

Anyone in Morgantown free next Saturday(May 26) for a couple hours? by Nicticattackin WVU

[–]SteelPenguin71 1 point2 points ago

If you don't find anyone, I would check out the Gray Line, it's a Mountainline bus route that goes from Morgantown to the Pittsburgh airport, I think once or twice a day. I know a few people who have used it before.

Anybody here ever been to the Dolly Sods? by Asterion7in CampingandHiking

[–]SteelPenguin71 0 points1 point ago

I just got back from a trip there today! Three days in May and it was rainy, cold, and windy! Keep in mind that weather there is incredibly unpredictable, and you shouldn't assume that if it's in the 70s or 80s normally, that it will be similar in Dolly Sods. That being said, it is my favorite place to visit! There are so many fantastic hikes with spectacular views and wonderful things to see.

There are easy hikes as well as more difficult ones. We backpack in and stay in the backcountry, but there are some nice civilized sites you can stay at as well. One of my favorite things about the area is the vast differences in terrain and vegetation in a relatively small area. In a mile hike you can see thick pine forests, mountain meadows, bare piles of sandstone boulders, marshes, hardwood forests, and some great mountain streams. It's wonderful.

I love Dolly Sods, it's truly a hidden gem for those who love the outdoors. If you decide to go, I hope you have a great time! I always do.

Is this a WVU fan thing or does this happen to you guys, too? by dtrainusmcin CFB

[–]SteelPenguin71 0 points1 point ago

That's why I stopped perusing the message boards. That crowd took shit way too crazily. I got called out on "not being a true WVU fan" when I questioned the choice of Bill Stewart as head coach after the Fiesta Bowl. If I want college football information, I go here now. If I want WVU information, I go to MSN Sportsnet or something like that. But yeah, message board crowds, those guys are crazy.

Link goes to /r/eagles: I asked them why they have signed other FBs while passing on Owen Schmitt. He seems like a great fit for us. Hopefully they drop some knowledge. by smacksawin steelers

As a WVU fan, I'd love for the Steelers to pick up Owen Schmitt. I know college differs from the NFL, but he was awesome as a Mountaineer.

I live in Morgantown, so it's only about a two hour drive down to Fayetteville. We're planning quite a few weekend trips over the summer.
