Nurse refuses student inhaler during asthma attack (teenager's mother finds him locked inside the nurse's office, unconscious on the floor.) by Sugar_Skullin politics

This is simply a result of the pulling away of 'childrens' rights over the last several decades due to fears related to our young having rights over themselves and what they can do or pick to do on their own accord.

The real story behind the rejected TED talk on inequality. by cptjmshookin politics

I've just got to say...impressive. A European Socialist quoted on the conspiracy sub, and it gets over 200 total upvotes so far. Hell has frozen over. The libertarian conservatives will think that there's a conspiracy going on just about this.

Vogue bans skinny, underage models - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) by vigorousin worldnews

The public seems to swing back and forth on this and miss the larger lesson - stop the discrimination based on what they think are moral rights and imperative. "Children" can be educated and empowered to deal with what should be their rights far earlier then some societies think. Weight issues both "too little" and "too much" are somewhat subjective and sometimes without much link to personal choices (especially for the thin). When will discrimination based on moral imperative stop. What is sad is that so many here will pat themselves on the back for this so-called "step".

...and thus starts a 'justified discrimination' of two disenfranchised and/or minority groups. One being thinner people which now apparently should live in shame among all the fat Americans, Australians, and Europeans (because of course, thin people have a mental disorder, and fat people are just fat you see), and the other being the young that have little political power or rights in this day and age (and are so fearful to see, they must be banned away). Bravo moral crusaders!

Bet You Didn’t Know How Obamacare Is A Solution To A Law Enacted By Ronald Reagan | MoveOn.Org by RoWagnerin Health

...and both of these narrowly defined "solutions" might end up favoring 'free riders' or 'the rest of us' depending on which is picked by the SC...however BOTH favor private for-profit medical insurance companies. Where is the choice for the people to pick a solution that does not make the private for-profit insurance companies even more rich....by having 'the rest of us' have to pay even more into their system. BOTH solutions presented here are bad. This is a perfect example of the US political parties trying to define a debate between two rather narrowly separated solutions while trying to ignore other rational solutions that would solve the problems presented within this chart, as well as solve other problems conveniently ignored in this chart. Government : Stop forcing me to pay into a corrupt for-profit health care system, one way or another way, where the executives benefit greatly from my dollars. Where is single payer?

One entity? The people that went....all the people that worked on the project that all collaboratively have histories and stories that correlate. Moon rocks in museums, video, live broadcasts. People witnessing the rocket launches, people witnessing the splashdowns, etc etc. Could it have all been a ruse....yes...but that's rather insane in light of all the mass amount of non-conflicting evidence for it having happened. Scientists have combed over all the data, physical evidence and so on up to now and the same things are said again and again, it happened, it's reality.

I dismiss "experience" that is not "experience" but instead "feelings" or unsubstantiated "experiences".

You are an ironic person. You believe there are vast conspiracies about everything regardless of evidence, yet, take the bible and Christianity as the true reality without any tangible and experimental evidence that can be quantitatively shared at all. Seriously, get help before your world spins into an unstable place where you question that even the floor beneath your feet is real.

Yes, arrogant that I actually have trust in something and that my world is not broken down into so many conspiracies that I can't accept even the most simply truths in front of me. Proof, or it didn't happen. Experimental evidence, or it's not real.

I suggest that one day you seek help on this. It sounds like the only things you believe in are faith-based nonsense, or conspiracies about everything in spite of evidence. This is a problem personally and socially. Personally as you don't live in the real world. Social as you dilute true proved conspiracies with factual evidence or admitted plots. Not everything in the world is a plot out to get you.

I think at this point I might want to put this conversation down and slowly walk away from it. There's being skeptical and keeping powers in check, and then there's going down the paranoid delusional line of thinking where you can't believe anything at all regardless of evidence. If you want me to start arguing your apparent moon-visit-is-a-myth theories, you can fine someone else to waste their time with your delusions.

Dead because of Cancer is part of the real world. Just because it is, does not mean that we shouldn't as a people try to address and deal with it. Or should we be tolerant of cancer, letting it just take its course, simply because it's a reality in 2012?

Silly that you'd equate the authority that the powerful have (that is authoritarian powers), and the 'speaking with authority" phenomenon that happens with people in particular fields discussing results of experiments and peer reviewing them.

I'm afraid to settle...I'm thrilled to be wrong. Science is always about challenging results to get to more of the truth. Don't let ego of what you by faith believe. Go with what has the best evidence and tangible proof. I believe in reality and proof. I don't need to bring in the ego of 'believing in myself'.

Of course not. Only proper scientific study is legit. I don't decide this, the mass of scientifically people decide this through their experimentation and research. Anything outside of this is mere speculation and conjuncture. Scientifically prove what you claim, or sit down.

I don't even own a cell phone....

Silliness. If you get a chance to make a peer reviewed study showing that this 'god' you talk of can be sensed, proved, or otherwise, let me know (and go collect your Nobel prize). I accept what can be tested and proven. You are referring to theories that are being worked and tested in our day and age. If you are saying to claim that what is not solidly tested and proven at this point in time is proof of your 'god', or trying to claim that someone needs 'faith' in a theory, you are wrong on both accounts. If you are saying that things that we are not sure of here and now prove your point, then your idea of 'god' is a slowly receding bucket of ignorance.

So then, you think that I'm too full up with what is provable and experimentable...and you think that I'm closed minded to what are delusions..things that cannot be proven, measured, or seen. If you want to level that I'm to full of reality and facts to be filled up with Un-reality, I take that as a compliment. Good luck with your fairy tails and mythical thinking running your life.

Expressing the root of a word does not suddenly make the use of that word what it's root was. Religion in today's world refers to a delusional method of thinking based on faithfully believing in what is not provable or reality. The desire of you to want it to be more then that does not make it any more delusional.

If you feel that "human ego" corrupts, then you have gone down a dark place where you cannot trust other poeple or institutions at all, nor even facts / data / studies. If you can't trust in anything anymore, you are lost, except for what you personally only believe by your faith.

People do not worship science. People that live their lives via scientific method constantly question what are the conclusions of it and retest over and over. There's no worship or 'going with it'. What is not provable and testable is dismissed as non-reality. What can be tested and stands up to constant challenge (that is, experiments trying in every logical way imaginable to disprove a theory) is reality - unless a better and more solid theory can be proved more. You'd be delusion if you go with allegory and stories over provable theory.

Past that, you are wasting my time and the time of others reading your faith in gods, astrology, alchemy, and appeals to traditional and mythological thinking. Get with the real world.

[–]StarScreamG1 -1 points0 points ago

Strange way of looking at what is factual and what is not. The problem with facts is that you need to account for all that you can to see the truth. Thinking that science (the pursuit of knowledge, retesting and challenging results) is the same as religion (going with what you 'know' based on faith, no need for any proof or testing) leads you down a very delusional path. You are confusing reality with make believe.

Well, thanks fine, but I choose to miss out on delusional thinking. If someone gives a speech and gives away that they have delusional thinking behind their thought process, I see very little value in listening further. I agree with some of the idea behind the speech in saying that mass-TV manipulates the people, however it's just stupefying that they would claim that, and then point the people to just another great mass-manipulator of organized religion. It's somewhat like saying to run from people shooting guns and right into people throwing knives. I'll pick to not be in front of both of those parties, thanks.

Mitt Romney versus Reality (If the rest of the ads are like this, Romney is in big trouble) (x/post from Obama) by jamith87in democrats

[–]StarScreamG1 2 points3 points ago

You know what is more fun about this ad..it's dead right, and points out the lies that Romney and other republicans are saying over and over...but....

What is most fun, is that these are all things that Romney and the Republicans want passed or more of...and Obama is here on record saying that he's done all these things. The lesson here is not that Romney is a lair - of course he is - the real lesson is to see that so much of what Obama has done listed here is just what the conservatives wanted him to do. What does that say about Obama's policies that he enacted, and what does that really make Obama?

Early Warning Signs of Fascism by collectivecognitionin conspiracy

[–]StarScreamG1 6 points7 points ago

I'd agree with this list...but let me throw this out there to you guys here on Conspiracy that seem to break more right then centered or left.... What Fascism is not : Government providing services that it's people can refuse or accept like universal health care. Government regulating businesses so that they do not pollute our environment and make safe products. Government requiring corporations and businesses to fairly pay their workers, provide vacation time, have safe work environments, and so on.

Progressives and Libertarians (of which I thing a majority of conspiracy subscribers are?) agree so on much about what is wrong in the USA and other 1st world nations, but these points above I'd say really show the differences also. Anyway, one thing is clear, I feel that both progressives and libertarians agree on this list being accurate as posted here.
