TIL Vince Wilfork holds the U of Miami shot put record. by choastin nfl

[–]Spaceball_1 1 point2 points ago

Events between indoor and outdoor track differ only slightly, I think you're right in that records are generally kept separate. But its possible his indoor record was better than the outdoor record as well, but he just didn't compete for outdoor.

To be fair, the Jets went to the AFC championship the year they did hard knocks.

Wanted to see either him or Ingram, going to reserve judgement for now until we can see what he does in a real game.

Ingredients: Cheap pork roast, dr. pepper, bottle bbq sauce

  1. Put pork roast in slow cooker, pour can dr. pepper over it into said slow cooker

  2. Cook on low for 6-7 hours

  3. Take out, pull apart on cutting board with forks. Pour out dr. pepper, put pulled pork back into slow cooker with full bottle bbq sauce.

I used to have a pretty weak handshake up until 3 years ago, when a semi-distant relative started coming to family functions a lot more (sort of an uncle). He has a bit of a crushing handshake, so it was adapt or die.

Computer Engineering Undergraduate Seeking Internship by eRay121in newjersey

ITT Exelis has a summer internship program in Bloomfield you could apply for. They also have a few other buildings in NJ, but I'm not sure what's available there.

Which team to pick? by Skorpin nfl

[–]Spaceball_1 11 points12 points ago

Do you like going to the circus? Then follow the Jets!

But seriously now, I would say 49'ers as a fresh contender, but if you're in Portugal that's a hell of a time difference for home games.

New Nike Uniforms to be unveiled next week. What changes would devastate you? by arebelongtoUsin nfl

[–]Spaceball_1 1 point2 points ago

I agree, the unis are pretty good. Looking here I think you're right in that the logo is retro. I didn't realize the current one was used way back and was referring to the 1978 - 1997 logo as the retro one (as in G1az3d's pic above). Its just that the current logo is literally just NY Jets spelt out. At least on the helmets I'd like to see a big NY like the giants have.

Even if we go down in flames, its still going to be damn entertaining.

Yeah our logo is pretty lame. My current jets hat I got from a nostalgia sportswear place just so I could get that retro logo.

New York Jets: Sanchize or Tebow-Time? | ProFootballFocus.com by ThaCarterin nfl

[–]Spaceball_1 1 point2 points ago

They converted some of his contract to be guaranteed to free up cap space. Being easier to release him later refers to the team-option the Jets put into the last 2 or 3 years of his contract.

We Just got Tebow. Your thoughts? by Bobsled91in nyjets

[–]Spaceball_1 21 points22 points ago

If it wasn't for the media circus surrounding him, I'd be totally for the trade. Right now I'm split 50/50, because he does give us a good wildcat qb, especially with Sporano running the offense now.

Why re-signing Mark Sanchez was the right move by DizzyPatin nfl

[–]Spaceball_1 6 points7 points ago

While they did extend his contract, the last 2 or 3 years of it are team-option years and it created ~6 mil in cap space for this season. Seems like a good deal to me.

Re-rack your damned weights. by Atkinson501in Fitness

[–]Spaceball_1 2 points3 points ago

I've been to 4 gyms in my life, a local gym (my current), 2 chain gyms, and a university gym. The only one where people racked their weights is the local one. Supposedly the owner gets tough on people not racking weights, and supposedly once turned the music off in the gym and refused to turn it back on until the weights he found were re-racked.

The university and chain gyms don't even label their dumbbell racks! Every time I would look for dumbbells it turns into a fucking scavenger hunt.

Why is there so much parity in the NFL? by redds56101in nfl

[–]Spaceball_1 36 points37 points ago

  1. Salary cap that prevents big market teams from signing the best talent ( like the yankees in baseball )

  2. Draft that places the best incoming talent with the teams that need it

Grantland on Bounties: Saints' Bounties pull the veil back on Football's brutality. Sport could be at a tipping point. by Limin8torin nfl

[–]Spaceball_1 2 points3 points ago

It seems to me the nature of how rugby is played has a lot to do with the lack of helmets. It not just that they protect their heads more, but you don't have receivers going for a forward pass only to get demolished by a safety.

That's not to say lack of helmets doesn't have an effect, but I think there's more to it.

Kidding aside, the NFL has some serious college hurdlers that would be fun to watch.
