Solitaire?

Forever Alone John Elway.

My personal badge of shame: I own not one, but two Brian Griese jerseys.

What is your favorite block of all time? This one's mine. Still gives me chills. by Steeplebombin nfl

It's the point at the end that seals the deal for me.

Oh also my blatant and unrepentant homerism.

Did you all try to hit the Jumbotron with balls? If not, I'm going to need good reasons why. Chris Kluewe would have been proud.

Hypothetically, how much would it cost the Houston Texans to buy back the likeness and history of the Oilers? by medblodnasirin nfl

[–]SouthStands 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, but that team moved. We're talking about the year after, suddenly your team isn't your team anymore, but your players are still there and calling themselves something else. Oh, and your history is wiped. Those boyhood icons you grew up watching? They're someone else's history now. That's just bizarre. Plus you'd have to rebuy everything.

John Elway of Denver Broncos says Brock Osweiler was 'long-term' pick by robert32907in nfl

[–]SouthStands 12 points13 points ago

Gosh, you know what I hate? Having a quarterback with flawed fundamentals, accuracy, but has the will to win. Let's get rid of him and draft a quarterback with flawed fundamentals, accuracy, but no record of winning! He's tall!

This isn't completely fair, obviously, but we'll see in 4-5 years how it plays out. I'd rather have a plan for the future than throw everything into next year and flame out (loleagles)

This. Brock would have been terrible in Todd Graham's system. He made the right call coming out now.

Or John Elway of the New York Yankees?

Holy crap. How bizarre would it have been to be a Colts fan, then suddenly, the Colts are a rival team, and the same set of players you've been cheering for are now another name?

Were I poor Evan Dietrich-Smith, whose swamp-ass is now nationally known, I would tape a picture of goatse on myself during practice snaps. That'll teach you, Aaron.

I was at this game, actually, against the Cowboys. I will never forget the people rushing the field. I'll also never again see a fat man in a Santa suit with a pig nose carrying a box of torn up turf. Great game. Toilet paper everywhere, and someone set a Cowboys helmet on fire.

Recognizing old Championships along with Super Bowls by SouthStandsin nfl

[–]SouthStands[S] -1 points0 points ago*

Nah, like the AFL/AAFC championships, they wouldn't count on the total. However, if you won the NFL championship in the 50s, it kinda sucks that nowadays no one considers it 'real'. Championships are a cause for civic pride. Even if the game has changed, the team that won it did so on a level playing field with the highest skilled players of their time. I don't want my Broncos losing their two championships 100 years from now because the game has moved on to cyborgs advancing a bomb to a holographic endzone while shooting missiles at tacklers.

Fair is fair. Afterwards, we can watch the Browns Super Bowl.

Maurice was one of those picks you knew wouldn't even make it to the first game. Waste of a 3rd round pick, and it really exposed Shanny's poor drafting and lack of a GM in Denver. I always thought Henry was a reach, just like when we signed Ron Dayne.

Asked my Steeler friend this and that was his immediate reaction too. I know a guy who still wears a Mike Tomczak jersey because he's still bitter about 95.
